Geekvape m100 grip

So i learned the “drop in geek vape quality” was that their new TC chip wasnt as accureate as their new TC chip. The actual ruggedness was unchanged. So it still a rugged use mod, just dont bother touse it with TC. Really?! They could fix that with a new chip. Anyway since i don't care a lot about TC, Its not a big deal for me. So i bought an m100. The leather grip looked replaceable so I delved into that. This is that journey.

So the grip retainer is held on with 4 t5 torx screws. BUT it does not actually hold the grip. The grip is actually a foam backed faux leather sticker

That's good to know, I have an old legend that works perfectly fine but could use a new grip. So did you still replace it? If so, what did you use?

I’ve seen the grip on legends replaced with full topgrain leather. The edges need to be shaved. Theresa a tool to do that with. It’s a common thing in leatherworking. You could probably tool the leather too if you wanted.

I'm not very good at leatherwork, but I might give it a go. I was originally toying with the idea of replacing the leather with a piece of stained and carved wood, but I haven't even gotten around to taking the leather off and seeing what shape I'd need to make. I got distracted by a bunch of other shiny mods lol
