Hi All,

Been really enjoying the Zeus Dual rta. the other day I was lazy and used the coils that came with them instead of putting in my own, and these coils are really good in my opinion.

Does anybody know what they are and where to get them?

Thanks in advance.
I used my homemade coils instead of the coils that came with the Dual.

The coil that given by Geek Vape is Alpha Braid coil.
I really love them (they are nichrome coils). The ramp up time is fast (just need 27 watts to ramp up one single coil at about 1 second).
By the way, if there is enough cotton in the coil, this coil seem the most silence coil that I've ever used.

This was my plan for the dual. I don't think this would fit on the single.
I like big coils and I can not lie...

I may end up with 1 less wrap but so far so good in TC.

Hi all!
I received my new single coil Zeus last friday. I'm no noob, coiled it with a clapton, wicked it with locally bought cotton bacon and vaped away. Not a single issue for three days. It started tasting funny so I changed my wick.

Mind you, I've wicked with EVERYTHING under the sun and more for the past 6 years and I've had my fair share of issues. But NONE like this.

Second wicking, when I started rolling the cotton bacon, lumps started showing up. Inserted into the coil, it would go and stop, lumps showing up. When I let go of the cotton, fibers don't straighten up. Strange. Wicks so so, a little on the dry side in the first half of the tank, more flavorful and saturated as the tank goes in the middle. And all of a sudden, it floods.

Third wick, again with cotton bacon, again with lumps, I pull apart the fibers and re roll them, goes easier on the coil, fills the wick channels, 70/30 VG juice. I also took apart the cage and the glass, reseated the o rings, filled it up. Again, like last time it's on the dry side in the first third of the tank, then, suddenly starts leaking through the air holes, again, flooded.

I'm going to use my usual Muji cotton next wicking tomorrow. I don't know what to think of it. Vapes fairly well, but I'm not liking those lumps in the Cotton Bacon. Maybe a knockoff? Happens all the time in Buenos Aires. The tank came sealed, maybe replacing the top gasket?

The only thing I can think of with the top is the bayonet lugs not being right. Between two Themis and one Zeus dual, my SS Themis is very tight, my black Themis is very loose, my rainbow Zeus is between the two. None of them have leaked a drop other than some seepage around the 510 of the Themises when put together, but it would be easy to accidentally open the black Themis. I'm considering tightening it up some, but don't want to create a problem where I'm not having one yet.

Sounds like you got a bad batch of cotton.

So that's how to turn the dual into a single.....lol. What do you have powering this beast? And wire is?

:)

You just go diagonal in the holes. It might be the 4mm diameter but I can't tell any airflow problems.

SS316L 26/34 staggered fused, .392Ω. I have one made with one less wrap but haven't installed it to know the ohms. I just filled the tank so it will take a few puffs to get down enough to take it apart:lol:

Proton, temperature control, it is slow. The wrap off may help that plus get it to line up with the holes better.
It's also a test because the Proton hasn't liked dual claptons, dual wire or mesh in TC, burning often. So far it's doing OK with the staggered fused single. There does seem to be benefit over the staggered fused compared to a single wire.

I'm a big fan of the Geekvape Alpha Braid coils as well. Gives a nice dense vape at relatively low wattages.

Coilology has released a braided coil recently, a 10 pack is like $2.99 if I recall at VaporDNA. Much less expensive than buying the Geekvape Alpha Braids and the Ni80 Coilology braided coils are pretty nice as well. I can't tell that much of a difference. I picked up several packs of the Coilology braids at that price. I typically run them (single coil RDA) at 28 watts for a nice cool, dense vape.

Looked down and my tank was almost empty! I just filled it!

So I put on the one with one less wrap on, I think it comes out to be 6 full + 1/2. It's about .345Ω and is much faster.
No scorch marks at all on the previous cotton so I'm thinking the Proton will do single claptons and it's the dual it has a problem with.

I bought both the single and dual tanks. Just now testing out the single. I think I set the coil too low cause the mod goes into protection in 2 -3 hits and the tank is a little warm. Gonna re-do it now....

Curious how you think the single and dual versions compare.

The original Zeus is still tops in my book. I've tried several of the newer top air tanks and nothing has made me want to switch. The new Intake is quite good, but no better than the Zeus in my opinion.

I agree that the Intake is very good, but not much better than the Zeus.
The Zeus also looks much better, but I've found that, with the same build, the Intake uses a lot less liquid to achieve the same flavor.
It's just more efficient.

Sry, had to run an errand and just got back to it. Ok, am trying the coil that came with the tank even tho no idea what the wire is. Going to assume its not TC. Went to test ohm and dry burn and I have blue coils??? Can you tell me what kind of wire does that? Of course, one is never suppose to dry burn TI coils, so I never have. So do you know what type of coil is being sent with the tank?
I don't want to continue and have coils that I have ruined.
:)

I wonder, have you used an OBS Engine Mini for comparison? To me, up to now the Engine mini is still the best, coming close with the Zeus single in second place. The only thing I don't like about the Engine is how it pushes liquid into the chamber when you close it. I have to fill it tilting it so the air bubble is in the bottom. Both are great nevertheless.

I rewicked with Muji. Darned Cotton Bacon.

I would rate them Engine Mini, Intake, Zeus respectively.

Yes, pushing liquid into chamber when closing is a wicking issue.

I like my vapes very saturated so I put a little less cotton than normal. Flooding is an issue, although I now fixed it in the Zeus with Muji. Cotton Bacon is shredding on me???
