Just have a lot of questions that are popping into my mind so I thought I'd start a thread and just post in one place.

For starters:

1. I wonder if E-ciggs still carry the risk of 'smoker's mouth'? You know where you get a ton of wrinkles from sucking on ciggs...?

2. When drinking, do you vape more? I know I smoke so much more when I drink. And does it contribute to feeling worse the next day like ciggs do?

3. How do you know when you're "done" vaping? like when a cigarette is over, you put it out. How do you know when to stop vaping?

4. I'm concerned that my nicotine use might go UP because the reason I will stop smoking for a period of time (30 mins, an hour) is because the cigg is irritating my throat.

5. I heard of using non-flame ......ant poly-fil to replace the filling in the cartomizers. Is that sage advice?

Thanks!

Just have a lot of questions that are popping into my mind so I thought I'd start a thread and just post in one place.

For starters:

1. I wonder if E-ciggs still carry the risk of 'smoker's mouth'? You know where you get a ton of wrinkles from sucking on ciggs...?

***My guess would be yes. It's the repetitive movement that does it.***

2. When drinking, do you vape more? I know I smoke so much more when I drink. And does it contribute to feeling worse the next day like ciggs do?

***I don't drink, so I can't answer this, sorry, someone else will be along shortly.***

3. How do you know when you're "done" vaping? like when a cigarette is over, you put it out. How do you know when to stop vaping?

***I guess I just feel satisfied for awhile, like I don't "need" anymore right then. You WILL know when you've overdone by that tell tale ache in your head...UGH!***

4. I'm concerned that my nicotine use might go UP because the reason I will stop smoking for a period of time (30 mins, an hour) is because the cigg is irritating my throat.

***Vaping can and does dehydrate and you can feel it in the mouth/throat especially. Drink lots of water!***

5. I heard of using non-flame ......ant poly-fil to replace the filling in the cartomizers. Is that sage advice?

***Only replacement filler material I know of would be Fluval for use in aquarium filters, not sure if that's flame ......ant or not?***

Hope this helps some!

Thanks!

You're welcome!~ =)

1. I wonder if E-ciggs still carry the risk of 'smoker's mouth'? You know where you get a ton of wrinkles from sucking on ciggs...?

Yes - maybe moreso if you get auto batteries. With manuals you can drag as soft/relaxed as you want. And with cartomizers you can put a drip tip on the end (slimmer and there are even some flatter tips - should make for a more relaxed mouth)

2. When drinking, do you vape more? I know I smoke so much more when I drink. And does it contribute to feeling worse the next day like ciggs do?

Sure I guess so

3. How do you know when you're "done" vaping? like when a cigarette is over, you put it out. How do you know when to stop vaping?

You don't know. You buy juices and equipment that give you the drag, hit, flavor/aroma you need to feel satisfied. It takes a while to find YOUR juices, the ones that click with you. And then just the dragging and smelling it relaxes and satisfies. I use additional things to keep me from vaping all the time, like leaving the ecigs in another room unless I won't be able to go to that room for a while. And at work I just set them down - I don't hold it constantly. Plus they are manuals and I have to type.

Pay attention to any liquids that never say STOP and stop using that kind of flavor for now. Some people can't vape food flavors right away (just give them a continuing analog craving as if they have eaten - I was like that but I could mix the food flavors into tobacco flavor) and some new vapers can't vape tobacco flavors or they desire an analog. Find flavors that satisfy you and leave you with no craving. After a couple of months you will probably be able to vape anything alone and some people can do that right away.

4. I'm concerned that my nicotine use might go UP because the reason I will stop smoking for a period of time (30 mins, an hour) is because the cigg is irritating my throat.

Some people do head that way (more heat more nic). I was determined when I switched to vaping to NOT up my dependence on nicotine or TH. Nicotine alone is actually less addictive than cigarettes so it can be done. I leave the ecigs in another room so I have to get off my .... and go there to vape. Sometimes I want 4 drags. Sometimes I want 2-cigs worth of drags. But that's fine.

Also, with ecigs I was able to work my nicotine down one step at a time - I am now down at 4mg per ml, lower than any cigarettes.

5. I heard of using non-flame ......ant poly-fil to replace the filling in the cartomizers. Is that sage advice?

No you cannot replace filling in cartomizers. You are confused. And if you meant cartridges that push onto a separate atomizer, then I recommend blue foam - seems much less likely to singe/burn vs poly. For 510 you can use precut blue foam from strictlyejuice.com (under $1 for 10 pieces) For tiny ecigs you can cut those pieces down. For larger carts buy Marineland Rite-Size U Bonded Foam Sleeve at Petsmart aquarium dept.

I know someone (56 yrs) that has been vaping for 3 months and she looks absolutely radiant- clear complexion and rosy color in her cheeks.
2. When drinking, do you vape more? I know I smoke so much more when I drink. And does it contribute to feeling worse the next day like ciggs do?
I don't drink.

11 days in now and I am "beginning" to vape less but when I first began I vaped whenever I felt the need which was often. I knew I was at a turning point when yesterday I no longer went searching for my ashtray/ analog whenever I went to sit at my desk. Vaping 36 mg and will go to 30 mg next week.
4. I'm concerned that my nicotine use might go UP because the reason I will stop smoking for a period of time (30 mins, an hour) is because the cigg is irritating my throat.
I had no problem vaping a high amount of Nic in the beginning. I just wanted to get off the damn analogs no matter what it took.

Wait for a Vet to answer that one. I've heard of: blue aquarium foam, Fluval and teabags.

Happy Vaping and Good Luck.

1. I wonder if E-ciggs still carry the risk of 'smoker's mouth'? You know where you get a ton of wrinkles from sucking on ciggs...? Like most, I am thinking yes, although the "sucking action" is different so it may have different effects.

2. When drinking, do you vape more? I know I smoke so much more when I drink. And does it contribute to feeling worse the next day like ciggs do? Hard for me to say for certain as I too am a noobie. I went out for drinks the night I started vaping and can not say I vaped more than I usually smoked, but also can not say I did less. The next day, however, I am pretty sure I did less as I went through about 5 ml in about 8 hours......same time frame/situation I may have gone through 2 packs.

3. How do you know when you're "done" vaping? like when a cigarette is over, you put it out. How do you know when to stop vaping? For me, I am done when I am done........

4. I'm concerned that my nicotine use might go UP because the reason I will stop smoking for a period of time (30 mins, an hour) is because the cigg is irritating my throat. Hard telling. perhaps an ingrease in the nicotine mg initially will give you the same effect leading you to not use more, you can then gradually decrease your usage. I was advised to start at 24mg. Chose to start at 16-18......figured if 24 was too harsh, I would get frustrated and go back to the bad stuff, where as if 16-18 is too little I could hit a little more without wasting $$ in a juice I wont use

5. I heard of using non-flame ......ant poly-fil to replace the filling in the cartomizers. Is that sage advice?
I cant advise here. I use the ego-T type B (Tanks)

I ordered 18mg juice... Wishing I'd done 24 now. Guess I'll just vape more often until my next order! :)

Some like the Nic hit while some like the Throat Hit while others like the Vapor so possibly 18 mg is enough. My first PV is a Mod with manual control so I can vape very heavy or lightly. If you are not happy with the experience please post again and I'm sure some of the Vets here can help enhance your experience.
At least you don't have to wait 2-3 weeks for delivery like us Canucks :(

Happy Vaping and the Best of Luck.

Just my answers to add to the others....

1. I wonder if E-ciggs still carry the risk of 'smoker's mouth'? You know where you get a ton of wrinkles from sucking on ciggs...?

I would say no. A majority of the wrinkles to the face that are associated with "smoking" are from the chemicals in cigarettes, tar, carcinogens etc. "Many of the over 4,000 chemicals in tobacco smoke also damage collagen and elastin, which are fibers that give your skin its strength and elasticity. As a result, skin begins to sag and wrinkle prematurely because of smoking." (Mayoclinic)

2. When drinking, do you vape more? I know I smoke so much more when I drink. And does it contribute to feeling worse the next day like ciggs do?

I vape quite a bit more when drinking. I have yet to feel "sick" from it. I have had very heavy days of vaping (up to 5 or more mls) and have never had the sick feeling you get from heavy smoking or smoking 4 or more analogs in a row.

3. How do you know when you're "done" vaping? like when a cigarette is over, you put it out. How do you know when to stop vaping?

For me it's just the "satisfied" feeling and the feeling of not needing any more. It's much different vaping. When you're done with an analog you put it out. With vaping you just set your PV down.

4. I'm concerned that my nicotine use might go UP because the reason I will stop smoking for a period of time (30 mins, an hour) is because the cigg is irritating my throat.

Vaping is completely different than smoking. You'll know when you're "done". You'll also vape quite differently (frequency wise) than you did smoking.

5. I heard of using non-flame ......ant poly-fil to replace the filling in the cartomizers. Is that sage advice?

Cartomizers are very inexpensive and good ones like Boge's for example will last 3 weeks or more. Just throw them away and get a new one.

Hope this helps and congrats on beginning the switch!!!! You'll be happy you did!!:vapor:
