Hi all, I have a few questions about the GG odysseus v1. I am interested in buying one to have around the house for my go to but I have a few concerns. Is it a good device to have as and everyday vape? I know its rebuildable but how often do you have to rebuild if its an everyday vaper. Also, other than the wick and wire, what do you replace when rebuilding? I know it has a ceramic cup in it but do you need to replace that every few weeks or do they last a few months or longer? Im concerned that if i buy one that i wont be able to get replaceable parts for it. Are there other parts that deteriorate with use that need replacing?

Also is the V2 better and can the V1 be upgraded to V2, or even the new V3? If so is it easy? Sorry for all the questions, im new to the GG stuff. Any advice is appreciated.

Hey BmoreJeff. Just a couple comments. I don't officially have the GG, as they are very hard to get hold of. Even spare parts seem to be a problem most of the time. When the chinese clone, the Terminator came out, I jumped on them. I got one of the short mode models, and one of the full mode, called the Terminator-C. The full mode model was the same, just had a longer mouthpiece and an additional clear tube section. Everything else was the same between them, and though I never tried it since I don't have an ody, was said by some to be completely compatible with the ody.

But, since I got them absolutely every other device lays idle. I love mine. My opinion is that they have given me the best vape so far. There is a learning curve with them, but they are basically very simple in concept. With silica wicks, they will last just as long as any other silica wick device out there. Rebuilding is really very easy, but you should be prepared to use and connect resistance wire to no-resistance wire. I use a small homebuilt spot welder, very easy, the link below:

The Spark-O-Matic - Wire Arc Welding for coil making

They are heavy and sturdy, and may be rough on flimsy connectors since they weight about 3 ounces, but on the end of a stainless mechanical mod they are really sweet!

As long as you don't actually break the ceramic cup, it should last a very long time. I remove mine about every 20 tanks or so and heat it with a small torch until almost red; it comes out white as new after this. For the wicks and coils, I can completely make and install a new one in 15 minutes. Spare O-rings are available at most hardware stores, just find one that's real close. You may want to grab a spare ceramic cup just in case, but other than that you shouldn't expect any trouble.

In short, if you like the fiber wick clearomizer-style of vape, I consider these to be the Cadillac.

Ditto everything scalewiz stated. I love my Odysseus and Term. They perform and taste exactly the same. They will out last any most other silica based atomizer out there. They are easier to rebuild than Vivi Novas.

Your time between rebuild totally depends on your Juice. With my light fruity juices I can go a week (or more) of heavy vaping and many many re-fills. With my NET/ naturally extracted tobacco I have to clean and dry burn after about a tank. Though that sounds like a lot, it beats going thru 2-4 cartomizers a day. I love my NET tobaccos and thats the main reason I invested in the Ody and Term.

You can build them to your liking and many do build them for real low , hot low resistance vaping. As long as you use good silica there is not problem with them handling extreme vaping.

I don't own an Odysseus, but I do own his wife, Penelope. Almost exactly the same in most ways, and the way it works itself is identical. I absolutely love it and it's by far the best rebuildable out there (including ALL GG atomizers when I say "it"). When set up right it produces just as much vapor as a genesis, and has a much better throat hit IMO. Plus it's completely pocket friendly, and it's easy to set up. Can't beat it!

the original Odysseus was V1. As far as looks practically the same, except Ody 2 has the air channels on the base for airflow so you can have a "gap less" look. Inside is where the major difference is. The ceramic in the V1 had 2 channels on the ceramic and stainless steel ceramic housing had 2 channels also. This is what the Terminator copied exactly.

The V2 was changed so there was only 1 channel for the wick on one side of the ceramic and on the other you had a stainless steel channel as part of the housing. This change was done to fix the leak that sometimes happened due to over wicking. If you bought a Ody 1 and want to update it all you need to do is find the V2 rebuildable part and it drops in perfectly. You can also buy the Ody2 base or if you are handy with tools you can always just drill 2 channels on the Ody 1 base if you are bothered by gaps.

As far at taste and performance the V1 and V2 are identical. Technically there is a V3 but it is called Ithaka. It went on pre-order a couple months ago. It will run at about 200.00. There will be extras coming in for people who didnt have the money for the pre-order which was done right before Christmas and a lot of people just didnt have the money to spend on themselves. I think, and Im not a 100% but aprx 2000 were ordered and he is sending out 4000.00. They are due to ship to Clouds of Vapours and E-smoke gr. mid March, keep an eye out in the GG forum so you can try and get one. Remember once they go on sale it might(will be madness) as this will be a world wide sale and the sites crash and they sell like mad.

I didnt order it, as I love my Odysseus's. The updates were made for dual wicks and minor air flow adjustments and easier fills and centre pin adjustments. Im sure it will be a beauty, but I decided I love Ody. Hope this helps, If you need more info let me know.
