General Question

OK, so kind of a weird question. My wife is afraid that if I get a Ego styl device that it will be mistaken as ......... paraphernalia. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem? Currently I am using an analog style device, but am getting ready to switch. I have seen several posts where people have mentioned that they have taken their PVs through customs and air port security with no problems. How about every day use on the streets? I am not shy about using a PV and am currently talking all the smokers I know into giving them a try. I personally believe that it is the perfect alternative to smoking. I have smoked a pack to 2 packs a day for almost 16 years now. In the month that I have been using a PV I have noticed some phenomenal changes and looking forward to more. Thanks for any input.

I would not be scared to vape outdoors where it is permitted , when one looks scared thats when people think your doing something wrong.

;) the "........." before "paraphernalia" indicates a word was filtered out by the forum software. Certain words are banned for use on ECF due to controversy, legality or other issues; it keeps things on a more even keel around here :).

I don't have an eGo; but don't recall seeing anyone here mention that they had such an issue with it. If anyone does question you, just disassemble it and show there's no herbaceous matter inside. :D

I am in and out of courthouses all the time and I use a Darwin and never had a problem and I have to go through the metal detectors and empty my pockets. As a group, I have converted more sheriff's deputies to vaping than any other group. Who cares what people think. Most police do not have the time or inclination to bother with someone vaping, especially if you are doing it openly, plus it's legal anyway. I believe most law enforcement know what they are and many of them vape.

You will have more positive results and better success with a model that does NOT look like an analog.

I vape a big ol' E-Power...proudly and get some looks...and some questions...the few folks I have seen report run-ins with the po po just did a little 'splainin' and all was cool...I got some ECF business cards I carry with me to hand out to anyone with questions and figure if the po po every stop me for my PV, I'll give them one as well..........

I have seen some mods people would think is a vibrator. That would be more embarrassing.

Re airports - read the Travel & the Ecig section. They have info on airports, how to carry your ecigs, how to present them at security. Many airports are familiar with them. But some countries do not allow nicotine liquid to be brought in and Singapore seem to take issue with ecigs in general.

It's funny but I found that all my hang-ups about big PVs in public were all my own. No matter if I'm vaping an analog looking one or something larger, if people see my trying to be nonchalant, they leave me alone. if I'm vaping openly they are more apt to ask about it. Nobody has ever reacted negatively. Police who do a double take on the street seem to not care once they see what it is. A friend of mine a couple years ago was simply asked to check hers rather than carry it on a plane. But that was a few years ago.
