Genesis Line ss help

Ok, I got a line off the classifieds today and I am trying to set it up. I have made the mesh and oxidized the mesh well (5 times). My problem is with the coils. I have made about 10 coils over the past hour and everyone burns red on the top coil that connects to the long post. I have watched all the youtube videos that I can find and read a bunch of post. Still no joy!

What am I doing wrong?

I just got mine a few days ago, so take this with a grain of salt. Try to shorten the distance the kanthal wire travels from the post to the wick. The farther distance allows the wire to heat up unchecked.

try to handle the kanthal gently, not to damage the wire by bending it to much it creates weak spots that get hotter than the rest.

Use no resistance wire for the positive post. It gets better after you burn it with juice. Mine does that at first, but once broken in, everything lights up like a Christmas tree. Genesis = Patience.
