I can only speak for my own RSST, which has a ceramic wick. But if I were to tun mine upside down, then yes, liquid would come out. Many people use a tank like a Protank or Nova when out of the house, working, etc, and get out their genny at home where they can relax and make sure to keep it from falling over. I wouldn't lay my Vamo down on it's side of it has the RSST on it. My Protanks? No problem. I suppose it's one of the trade offs of a Genesis system with a ceramic wick. I haven't use mesh, but I have wicked it with cotton in the past, and even with cotton I would not lay it on it's side. But other people's RSST's might be setup differently than mine

I did have that problem however I accidentally found something that wored extremely well. I have an aga t-2 tha I fixed up with 3mm stainless steel cable. That was a snug fit by itself however when I wrapped ss mesh arond the top of the cable (very tightly) just around the kanthal coil portion and just enough to kinda fill the rest of the hole around the deck of rba if fits snugg enough that absolutely no juice leaks out. I do carry it in my pocket or bookbag with no leaks. Im waiting for my rsst to come in the mail I wish I could answer that for you but my experience is only with the aga t-2.
