Ok guys. I've got her reading at 1.2ohms on my mech using multimeter and I'm pretty sure I have gotten rid of all the hotspots.

I have eliminated the really bright areas by nudging the wire and now all the coils are glowing evenly. I think I'm ready lol

--Edit--

Another failure lol.
I didn't realise that while nudging the wire, the top has actually come out of the screw/washer thingy on the positive post. I didnt realise it was loose until after i filled the tank up.

So I go to secure the wire again, instant hotspot
I'm gonna sleep on it and give it another try tomorrow morning. On the bright side, I mixed up a batch of 50/50% PG/VG juice. I figure it should be nicely steeped by the time i get this blasted thing working lol.

I have noticed that the wire comes out of the positive terminal quite easily on the RSST, any tips?

It does and it's a pain. What I do is screw the center pin down to where you see the actual bottom of the pin coming out of the 510 connector. Obviously have to do this with the tank OFF the mod. It creates a small gap between the tank and the mod, but mine never comes loose anymore after doing that.

Well hopefully you can figure it out, sounds like a pain for you, I had to make sure everything was screwed down tight before I got mind working, I'm using a cheap Vulcan did clone though

Ps. Literally put my rba on a 510 to ego adapter and screwed it down as tight as it would go and it's kind of a permanent part of my rba now lol, I was having the center post rise up when I screwed it into my devise and it cause the coil to not be even, and caused a top coil hot spot like crazy. But that could be because I have a really cheap rba and it had a way to keep the post from moving down but not up

Here's how I set up my RSSTs on my mods. I back off the center pin first. Then screw the RSST onto the mod, so that it sits down flush, with no gap at the bottom. Then snug down the center post, so that it's making good contact with the center pin on the mod. I build my coil/wick assembly with the RSST already installed on the mod; or at least on the top cap, if the mod's top cap is removable.

Another failure again guys and I am really starting to get discouraged :'(

I thought I had eliminated all the hotspots on my coil build, but I am still only getting that burnt smoke taste and poor vapour.
I had 4 wraps on the last coil, and while I believe I eliminated the bright hot spots, the 2 middle coils did seem a little brighter than the outer coils.

What exactly causes a hotspot? Coil too tight or too loose around the wick? I am getting exactly the same results when trying to work with my Chalice RBA, so I'm pretty sure its not the atomizers, but is more likely something I am doing wrong.

Anybody in the Sydney Australia area wanna show me how to do it in person? I would gladly donate my Chalice RBA which has had very little use, as I gave up after a few tries lol

I'm hoping if someone could show me in person, and look at what I'm doing wrong I'd be able to get it. My Mark Buggs Chalice for a RBA lesson sounds fair I think
