something with a "dirty" flame works best. Catalytic heaters and torches burn to efficiently to coat the mesh. You want something that will deposit "soot" on it.

I have tried both and a lighter does seem to work best.

I guess I haven't noticed because Kanthal A-1 very quickly builds it's own oxidation so it must be what is insulating my coils from the mesh. I guess it was a lucky dart that I picked it over nichrome 60 (and that there is a Kanthal factory next door to where I work so I wanted to support local businesses here).

Sometimes I wonder if people who can write can read as well.

Are there photos to show the unassembled kit? How many parts are there? Any DIY instructions? There's just a generic photo which all looks the same on the English website. NOT everyone is born with brains like Raidy. There's really no reason to be harsh on your words right UWE? I'm very sorry if I might have missed all this info somewhere. Any kind souls willing to point me to the right direction? I'll read with extreme care.

Humor doesn't always translate all that well, I have to say this though. ANYONE looking into this type of "mod", and it is a modified atomized, needs to keep in mind that they are purchasing a device that needs mechanical skill to use. Whether it be to assemble the unit, or to run/maintain it.

These coops are mostly at cost, and what they make to do the connection wiring for the assembled unit is not enough IHMO and they do it with a smile on their face. The least any of us can do is fully read "all my mods" and a few other articles on genisis atty's so that we all have a full understanding of how the unit works.

Eyebrook, it would be inappropriate to discuss it here but please do me a favor and PM me your opinion of the IATTY if you have the time.

Some asked me to explain the difference between the two types of Kanthal resistance wire.

Kantahl 0,16
This is a resistance wire with a diameter of 0,16 mm and a resistance of 67,15 Ohm/meter +/- 5%

Kantahl 0,2
This is a resistance wire with a diameter of 0,2 mm and a resistance of 42,97 Ohm/meter +/- 5%

The easiest thing is to test both. Kanthal is not expensive to do so. Some prefer 0,16 and others 0,20.

I personally use 0,20 for the Genisis. From Freaks you will hear exact Ohm-Values. "My has 2.3462 Ohm".
Normally I take the mesh and four rounds 0,20 around it, not to strong, and I never measured the Ohm value. Than I have a fine working Genisis.
But I must say that I am a pipe smoker and do not inhal. Flash is therefore not a criteria for me.

The from Raidy shown Genisis is out of Series II.
We are now in Series III with the following changes:
- optimized for stainless steel, 0,5mm threads and wall thickness 0,5 mm
- weight only 28 grams
- stainless steel insert for the brass bolts
- ceramic tube for holding the mesh within the insert
- RCA or 510 atomizer connector (510 not for eGo)

Tai Pan stated the Genisis has a 510 connector but it's not for an eGo.
From all the reading I've done the eGo-T/Tornado-T have a 510 connector.
What makes it not compatible?

Thank you for your time.
