Making sure the wick is down is second nature to me. With most of my setups I can do it blind thanks to engravings.

What is not second nature (yet), is vaping a KFL without putting a finger over the air intake. Gets annoying real fast :D

It's all a matter of habit. However, if you have to gangsta-tilt your gennie, you may have a wicking issue. Unless I make an effort to vape mine vertically, which is very odd anyways, all it takes is wick facing down to keep it fed.

On gennies you need wick facing down. On drippers you need air intake facing not down (most of the time) to keep them from leaking. KFLs need their air intake unfingered. All setups has their quirks.

That issue got me a couple times with the Russian, but wasn't a huge complaint. Everyone is going to feel differently. I am enjoying the new Trident v2 clone I just got though, still learning about RDA's and methodology etc. I'm really excited to try some mesh the the Trident though. Like I said, mesh seems to provide the most pure, uninterrupted flavor of all the wicking materials I've used, seconded by cotton, thirded by silica. Never much cared for silica, just seems like a durable material used in massed produced clearo's to prevent users from burning out their attys too fast from dry hits or misuse.

I even meshed my Russian, which was difficult, but was the best vape I ever had from it. Still didn't match up to my Pyrex RSST, but that's just my opinion. I prefer the open 5/64 draw on the RSST by far
