I can drill hole any size. Do you think the cable size and sleeve size makes much difference?

No. Maybe. I suppose not all sizes of cable wick at equal rates, if that is what you're getting at. Some of the thinner cables can only be had in a 7X7 braid which, because of the relative reduction of available juice-adhering surface area, might lead it wick less fast. But that's just a guess. Either way, I try and wedge the bottom of the sleeve down in the wick hole if possible in order to mitigate leaks. But that's only if my cable is significantly narrower than the wick hole. Plus, the wedged sleeving keeps the cable from possibly shorting out against the deck of my genny (a non-issue with the wickhole-insulated RSST).

Stainless steel mesh is synonymous with genisis rba because raidy made it that way. Raidy first brought the genisis up in his modding thread here on ecf and in his german vaping forum. He used ss mesh because he liked it. Since then they have gone hand in hand. Although you can use other wicks in them. Its genisis by the way. It was changed over time. But thats how it was originally named.

OK so why no galvanized? Is it because the liquid may react with it? I really do not understand. I have used SS and mesh and have tried many methods. My favorite is the raw SS mesh then I pulse the coil to build up carbon. I can set it up now in like 5 mins. The last time I used a sleeve was setting up the Aios but that is a weird situation. The SS cable does wick really really well.

Heated galvanized metal caused metal fume fever in welders of yesteryear.

I appreciate all the input. It's helped a lot. Just want to hear from a couple more people about what size mesh. 500x500? (I'm not asking what size to make the wick...that varies obviously ;)) I am going to use the RSST with a mesh wick. I'm looking to get a genny vape in all its form. I have my other attys for cotton builds.

500 mesh seems to be the most widely praised weave density. I have never used anything else, so I can't say for certain. But it certainly works well for me. I do however recommend cutting out your mesh pieces at a diagonal to the weave pattern of the greater sheet. Thus yielding a wick that has no juice-travel-hindering horizontal strands.
