Hi, I'm new here. I've been using a Joye eGo-T for about a week with 24mg flavored juice and I've really cut back on regular cigarettes a lot. Ecigs are great to replace cigarettes while I'm at the computer, in the car, or out being social. There are a couple of times though when the ecig just doesn't cut it, specifically after meals and during stressful situations. You know that buzz you get when you have a post-meal cigarette? I don't get that with ecigs. If I try to do longer drags to get more vapor it gives me a headache. Same goes for stressful situations. Is my problem that the 24mg is too strong (hence, headache) and I should be doing longer drags with lower strength stuff, or that it's not strong enough to duplicate the "buzz"? Or do ecigs just not give that feeling at all?

Hi SamCarter and welcome to ECF. The first 10- 14 days will be up and down. The one HUGE problem with vaping is it's a very personal program and what works for one person may not work for the next. It's NOT a competition or a race and if you need analog so be it. Some smoke for awhile and one day go to have an analog and discover they enjoy vaping more. You've cut down on analogs and that's HUGE SUCCESS so don't beat yourself up cuz your body needs an analog- it's quite normal. You could buy some pg and some VG and dilute it down OR a lower stregyhth Nic juice (16 or 18 mg) and mix the 2 in equal parts.
Good Luck, Vapoor.

There is more to cigarette addiction than just nicotine. If you can wean yourself off the analogs, do so. If you cannot, and I'm talking after a month or so, look into whole tobacco alkaloid juice. I don't use much of this stuff, a few drops at the end of the day to wind down, or to get through a stressful situation without having to dig any mysterious holes in the back yard.:2cool:

The "buzz" you are referring too is from the carbon monoxide that cigarettes give off and not the nicotine. Vaping doesn't have this. The headache is from too strong a nic and/or hitting it too often. You might consider dropping to 18mg for all the time and 24mg for after meals and in the morning to kick you in the britches to get moving. I keep a bottle of 24mg for mornings and when times get stressful. It helps.

It's also good to keep in mind that the technique for inhaling when vaping is a bit different than smoking analogs. There is a thread somewhere here but.. pull vapor into your mouth, hold a moment then inhale to lungs through your nose and mouth. Instead of taking quick puffs like a cigarette try to take a slow drag (3-8 seconds). It helps me as it gives me more of the "smoking" sensation than the quick bursts of vape do.

Everyone is different but I also believe that equipment can help. 3.7v did not do it for me - had much better luck in the beginning after vaping @ around 5v.

I had the same issue my first week. "For me" I found the answer in two ways . . . one, I upped the VG to get a heavier vapor for more satisfaction. Secondly, I made "an event" out of those times. As a smoker I often times lit a cigarette and kept on doing what needed doing, dishes, working, etc. Now I refer to those times as "retiring to the drawing room for a brandy and cigar". LOL In other words, I make the time and effort to pull slowly, hold well, inhale deeply, and exhale in pleasure mode. I also assure I have a good strong battery and topped off juice for those situations.

I don't believe, and it is just my thought, that your nic needs to be reduced. Not if you're not having problems at any other time. Try just altering your "habit" and make sure you're vaping and not trying to smoke a PV.

Best wishes and welcome!:vapor:

You just have to realize you don't get the instant nicotine hit vaping like you do smoking. It's slower.

If you want a cigarette, tell yourself you'll wait 1/2 an hour to have one. By then you should feel the effects of the nicotine and you probably won't want one.

Also with vaping you don't get the MAOI's that you get with cigarettes for that 'relaxed' feeling. That was from the drugs and other crap they put in cigarettes.

Thanks for the helpful replies. If I can plan for a more delayed reaction than I'm used to I think I can handle that. I read different articles about "the buzz" and found that not everyone actually gets it or they experience it differently than I do. Which is odd because I don't think I'd be addicted to them if I didn't have that after those few "key" smokes of the day. But I will adapt! I like the vape flavors much better than analog cigs aside from all the other benefits so it shouldn't be so bad. I'll go hop on a roller coaster for a buzz or something, lol.
