Two things come to mind:

First, when stopping smoking, an INCREASE in phlegm is often noticed. The body begins hurling that nasty stuff back up out of the lungs since it's no longer being told to accept the chemicals and irritation from smoking. This declines and goes away after several weeks/months.

Second, watch your level of VG. Lots of people don't like high VG percentages since it can cause phlegm formation. PG is no problem unless there is an allergy. Levels of VG below 50% are usually tolerated well.

If it goes away by June, it's probably pollen allergy. I've vaped 70PG/30VG constantly all day for about 7 years now and the only time I get yellow discharge is during pollen season or when I have a cold in the Winter.

FWIW, since quitting smoking 6 years ago head colds have been almost non-existent except for mild nasal issues during pollen season in the Sunny South.

You could try vaping high PG juice for a while to see if it improves.

It could also be the fact that I've never smoked analogs and my lungs are not used to it.

see there, you actually answered your own question. I am pretty sure that was the answer you expected to see here.

This is good reading during breakfast!

Personally, I never got throat oysters until I started vaping at 50+ watts. When I vaped at 12-13w, it never happened. I use 50-60% VG as well, so it is increased juice consumption in general in my case....

My lungs are clear after 40 years of smoking, most of that at two PAD. It's been 6 years since I last smoked after vaping took away the cigs. Vaping may have saved my life. I'd probably have smoked until I died just because I enjoyed it and didn't want to quit.

Welcome to the world of pre filled cartridges / carto's where they use 20% or more flavorings.
What pg/vg ratio? not around or about, what % of each.
What nic mg/ml?

Due to you being a never smoker your lungs simply aren't used to inhaling anything foreign.
I don't know why you would want to get used to something your body is obviously telling you it doesnt want or need.

'Hey doc', I feel discomfort and have these symptoms when I do this.
'Doc to patient', then stop doing that.

It really is that simple...

I vape high vg, never have any issues with phlegm unless I catch a cold. Of course, I smoked cowboy killers for a solid 15 years, plus the 2-3 years I tried different quitting methods...hacked up some pretty nasty stuff back then, but nothing now. I do get a sore throat sometimes if I vape at higher wattages very long, but that's about it.
