If this is the wrong forum for my suggestion, please feel free to move.

Let's say the buttheads decide to "ban" our nicotine liquid. First of all, they (the FDA) can only regulate the nicotine, anything else is "aromatherapy" and you can purchase a number of "aromatherapy" type devices, which are marketed as such, that act in a similar way (look up the Volcano vaping device).

So the actual devices, if marketed as an aromatherapy device are not under jurisdiction by the FDA. It's only under FDA jurisdiction if the advertiser/retailer markets it as a "stop smoking device" and/or if the FDA steps in to regulate the nicotine. Nicotine free "aromatherapy sticks" can say "suck this FDA" all day long. :pervy:

Now, getting vegetable glycerin is not a big deal. Getting some candy flavorings is not a big deal. And, getting pharmaceutical grade nicotine is not a big deal. You don't need tobacco products or extracts. The easiest way to do this, if you can't score a prescription from your doc for the nicorette inhalers is to ORDER THEM FROM A CANADIAN PHARMACY. This is perfectly legal, these inhalers are over the counter in canada, and probably will be over the counter here soon enough, I would guess.

I tried to quit smoking with the inhalers a while back and have a whole ****load of their pharm grade nicotine carts. It's simple, break one of those puppies open (use some tweezers, you don't want to touch this stuff) and soak it in a 15 ml bottle of veg glycerin overnight and a few drops of flavoring and you are 'ret to go. Soak two of those puppies if you need stronger nicotine. Each bare cart contains 10mgs of pharm grade nicotine.

You might be able to do something similar with patches, but I don't know. I tried my method the other day to use up all these inhaler carts i have and it works great!

1 real analog cig = 1mg of nicotine approx so one of these carts soaked in vg will equal something like 10-20 real cigs depending on your use.

I am not worried about these jerks at all. They can't ban aromatherapy devices. lol. :D

Outrageous work-around. Just impractical. Our goal is to get e-cigs recognized as acceptable alternatives for addicts hooked on nicotine. Forget the cute end runs for the masses (most people are not going to sit around and squeeze expensive liquid from Nicotrol inhaler cores), but do as you please on a personal basis.

I think msfatty's idea is great. An expensive one (as those inhalers are ridiculous expensive and as soon as the FDA finds out, they will stop importation of those across the border because well, the pharm will force that)

I do agree with TB though.

Ideas like this just go to show the FDA and other legislators that people are going to do what they need to do and to take a product off of the shelf and FORCE people to do their own concocting in their kitchens can lead to an unregulated problem.

If anything any mole should take from this forum is that banning things (as we have seen with alcohol and marijuana prohibitions) does nothing but harm. People will do what they need to do to get what they want.

TB.....I have a whole box of Nicotrol inhalers sitting in my basement waiting to be used on a rainy day.I for one have no intention of using them for anything other than what they were deigned for.I hope I don't have to resort to using them anytime soon, but will if I had to.I know they were not covered by my insurance, and believe I paid $115 US for 168 cartridges about 8 months ago. They do work...just not as effectivly as my PV does!:)The Wiz!

The aromatherapy angle is evident in Varieties AGAIN, watch SmokeFree Innotec They appear to have all the bases covered, including mention of tobacco solution and aroma. They have set themselves up to be considered a tobacco product and probably escape the woes of manufacturers on this board. I wonder who backs Rauchless. Interestingly, they are set to start production in August of 2009

Practically: no. Because they cost as much or a bit more then regular cigarettes (analogs), plus the devices can't be used in the same way as we are using ours (perhaps modders could make something out of the atties in them... still much too high prices then though, who will pay $45 or whatever such a set costs for one atomizer...)

LOL,,, I'm laughing, because I agree with you that we have a whole war to fight before this is nessessary,,, but if I let my mind wander to the unthinkable possiblity that we might lose,,, there's probably no limit to what I might do to get a fix. :D

Let's say that with one cart Nicotrol that contains 10 mg. of nicotine, you soak the filler in 1 ml. of pg or vg. That gives you 10 mg of nicotine per ml, which is what it is in 1 ml of e-juice. You can make 168 mg. of e-juice for $115 bucks. If my math is correct, the price is not that bad. That's approximately $.69 for a ml, which is far below what we pay for 10-30 mls of prepared e-juice. Check my math?

.70 per ml is $21 per 30 ml,,,,,I would imagine the inhaler is already diluted so adding to pg would further dilute making it 1/2 the strength so probably not strong enough to help me out any.

I don't know the exacts on inhaler mg/ml and quantity either

If you don't have to add any pg or vg to make 1 ml for a cart, then you just add flavor .

I'm just saying that $21 for 30 ml of 10 mg is not a bad price at all whether you have to add a bit of pg or vg. If you need 20mg, then it'll cost double, that would not be cost effective.

Of course, we would have to have the nicotrol nicotine tested for toxins, LOL

I think with nicotine and pg as well it is very close 1mg =1ml. If thats correct in theory you could add 200ml's of pg, and come out with 210mls of a 47.6mg or 4.76% nicotine/pg solution. If you added 260mls of pg it would be 270mls of 37mg or 3.7% nicotine/pg. But that assumes you can get all of the nicotine out, and it is as simple as that.

The idea is very interesting though. And less than a dollar for 200+ml's aint bad either.
