Wanted to update: I am playing hooky from work today (no kids there today, so wasn't needed anyway) and decided to play lab instead. I knew I liked the grape I made with no nic so made another one with nic and 10% grape. It was okay but not great, thought it tasted dry and needed something. I added 2 drops sweetener and it was better. Next time I will add an actual percent of sweetener and tweek it but it is very vapable :) Next I made strawberry at 10%. It wasn't noticable enough flavor so went up to 20% and it was better but missing something. So I added a few drops of champaign and 2 drops sweetener and it helped. Next time I will add even more strawberry, unless steeping helps? Good news is I am finally making some that are making me say Mmmmm....even if I still want to tweek them it is much better than the stuff I was trying to mix following recipes and multiple flavors that I didn't know if I liked or not. I am excited again!

I wanted to add: The grape was a little strong so will also go down in % next batch

awesome glad to hear that !!!!!! its very exciting when you start having those hopeful moments instead of the discouraging moments :) purevapes has 1.50 samples for flavorart flavors. there is a huge thread here thats usually on the first page with some great reviews by HIC and good percentage starting points (flavorart is more concentrated so lower starting points usually ). If you like fruits they are very very good. tho you have 95 flavors already lol.youre bound to have plent of successful mixes.. interesting about the champagne. I have loranns champagne but have never tried it yet. with strawberry it sounds good. danny and a few others have mentioned a bubbly kinda carbonated tase from . is that what you got out of it ?

The dryness you mentioned may be coming from too much flavor, but you haven't steeped them a week yet. Also Too much flavor can mute the flavor.

You can not expect it to taste right the same day. Seems like your jumping the gun on adding and changing you'll miss what what the right mix doing that. Diy is an art and it takes time. I would not even try a mix until At Least the next day, 2-3 preferred.

The strawberry and/or others may need to be cut to 5% in a small sample after a few days of steeping if its not good, (however flavors like that could take 1-3 weeks to come through.) 1ml 20% finished mix with 3 ml base will be 5% shake it up. See how that is. The tfa thread can help you greatly with where and what to start with.

Just wanted to offer some encouragement, I guess. Trial and error, and pushing through the frustration WILL YIELDS RESULTS. It took me over a month to find my first ADV, and I've since moved on to several more ADVs. In the 7 months that I've been doing DIY, I've come up with about 9 different mixes that I can vape on a daily basis. I mix once a week. Once I have what I think is a winner from that last batch, I make a bigger bottle, and I make 3 or 4 new samples. I give everything a hot bath, and then I remove the caps and let them sit for 24 hours. Then I taste. I've made some real stinkers, and have probably thrown out more tests than I've kept. BUT, I kept at it and the breakthroughs did come.
