Getting Frustrated with Cartos

I'm about three weeks into vaping. I've been using an eGO-T pass thru 1000mah. It's done the job and got me off analogs and I've got an Apollo Vtube on order.

I've tried Smoktech carts, Boge 510SR and the Vision eGo Clearomizer I got yesterday fell apart after about an hour. I wasn't that sold on it as I felt it tasted rubbery (not burnt) just odd. Off the ones I tried I liked Smoktech best but they don't seem consistent. Some work great, but it's hit and miss with them. I've got a GotVapes FLuXomizer™ SUPREME CLEAR 510 REG .9ml 2.4-2.6ohm coming today hopefully (shipping has been really slow).

I'm putting a lot down to pilot error as I'm so new to this but can anyone suggest anything that will work well on the Apollo. With my lifestyle I'm on the go a lot so dripping wouldn't work and I want something that I can fill up and will last a few hours without refilling constantly. I'm getting really frustrated that I'm having so much trouble with it.

Was shipping good on it? Just checked the status of my GotVapes FLuXomizer and it's *still* in NY. I ordered it on the 31st and this is the slowest shipping I've had from anyone.

Shipping is free at CCV.

Here's the cartos: Crystal Clear Vaping

One of those is a 2.5ml Jumbo Resurrector Carto...I don't even need THAT much yet..heh. ;)

I bought a e-power kit there and he sent it Sat. I got it yesterday. He's fast.

Cartos need to be fully saturated on the initial fill. If you leave a dry spot, you will get burned filler and that's no fun at all. Burned filler is the death knell of a carto. It just never will taste right after that. Use the condom method in the video below to make sure the entire filler gets saturated from the start. Top them off periodically when you sense a flavor drop.

For the 3.4v or 3.7v eGo, try a Boge 2.0 ohm carto. I also like the Smoketech DCT dual coil 1.5 ohm tanks. Those come in 3.5ml and 6ml sizes. The ressurector also comes highly recommended.

The cartos hold about 1ml and the 2 0hm LR cartos burn through a good amount of juice, but you get vapor for all of it, minus what's left in the carto when you toss it.

Ah, ok, thanks..these 1.7v XL's hold a great deal of juice, thats' all I know. ;)

Why would you toss it though? You can refill them many times unless they get burnt or otherwise fail.

That DocVape vid, he even says so. :)

I've pretty much settled on Boge's only for consistency. One thing that really helps any cartomizers on first fill use the taryn spin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnPWfGkhnF4).

If you want to get away from cartos, take a look at Vision eGo Stardust. They work pretty well and are cleanable. I just got some of the V2's and they're holding up pretty good.

I received a box of these yesterday and they are great. Yes, you have to fill them upside down with a syringe - but they include the syringe in the box. Great taste, great vapor, and zero leaks - works just like a product should work:

CE3 - 5 Pack

The other type I use are the Resurrectors from CCV - they are the best I've found for a KGO...

Yeah, I used the condom method on mine and top off with drips. It takes a LOT of juice.

Of course it does; the 1.7s hold almost 2 ml of juice. :D

Okay, Sibsie, since you're a using an Ego-T, you should be firing at 3.3 volts. You should easily be able to handle the 1.7s. And I agree, the resurrectors (Smoketek 1.7ohm) are great cartos and CCV is where I get them. Customer service is great! I 've ordered twice so far (and I'm going back today for more, lol) and they've been in the mail the same day (as long as you order before lunch, I think). And you can get a pack of 15 for $21.40 he throws in a free drip tip or 2.
You might also want to look at the Boge 2.0's at the same place. He also has a pack of 15 for under $20 this time. I'm using both, not one bad one so far and I've even boiled them once and they act as good as new!

Oh and definitely use the condom method and fill from the battery end. Remember, the coil is at the bottom; you have to get the juice down there if you want it to burn ;)

I've experimented quite a bit with carto cleaning. I refill Boge cartos all day for several days. Once the taste gets wierd, I toss them. With the right method, I guess you could clean the gunk out and use them over and over. I just don't get the same clean taste out of a washed out carto. Here's a picture of one I used for three days and cut open. The black stuff is burned juice (before cleaning). Even after cleaning using the turkey baster method, there's still stuff in the coil wrap that doesn't clean away.

I'm not abandoning cleaning for cartos, just looking for a way to get them really clean. The turkey baster method does about 80% of the job, but the gunk inside the center wrap is still there. I've cut them apart after cleaning the heck out of them and it's still like the picture around the coil inside the little cloth wrapper.

The one in this picture was used for about 3 days and hasn't been cleaned.

Yep I tried every method under the sun to clean cartos and even if you can get all the gunk out there's still the issue of the filler/ stuffing being hardened and not really wicking properly. Cartos are lasting me 2 weeks in a tank so I now just toss them BUT have kept a few of them just in case.
