I live in Europe and I tend to get a lot of odd looks when I use my 510. So far no one on the street has said anything but I notice the looks. Europe is a lot more smoker friendly than the states, no non-smoker would ever berate you on the street (like happened to me more than once in the US) but they don't seem to have seen too much of the e-cig yet.
At work at my computer I had just let out a big puff of vape when a new employee happened to walk by and asked if I waited for the boss to leave and then smoked. So I explained what it was and took it apart and she was like "thank god, I thought you were smoking crack"

I get odd looks too. I live in backwoods east Texas where the general intelligence of the people isn't a whole lot higher than that of cattle. No one has said anything to me yet but I haven't pushed it either. I mean, I haven't vaped where they don't allow smoking or anything like that. I just don't want to hear it. I've been tempted, though to just puff out a big 'ole cloud of vapor standing in the checkout line and see what happens! :D

Think you get strange looks when using a 510, try a Joye Stick. You can almost see people's brains break when they look at you.

Wait. He's sucking on a little plastic spaceship.

Aiiiiiii! Someone help, it's smoke.

Wait. I can't smell it...

They watch you a couple more times, give you that "I know you're doing something wrong, but I can't prove it" look....then wander off like a dog that can't figure out how to get through the screen door.

No one has even looked at me on the streets of Manhattan. Last week a woman did ask me if she could buy a cigarette from me, because she "thought she saw me smoking." Told her I didn't have any. :2cool:

One day I was in Jamaica queens and a woman asked me for a light. I thought it was odd being that the battery I was using was black with a blue led. But it might have been she just wanted to ask me a few questions. I've had so many strangers ask me wtf is that thing. I don't like to talk to strangers just like many NY'rs. I also hate when some friends and other people I know comment on how often i use it. I really hate that. They are always like you never put that thing down. I don't think it's anyone's business what i chose to do. I wish people would keep their comments to themselves and comment about me when I'm not around.. Like most people.

lol Bert.. I can actually feel the New Yorker in you. I'm born and raised upstate so I can't really call myself a New Yorker, although I'm told I carry the attitude and I HATE THE CITY but LOVE it at the same time, which also fits in with the general NYer persona.

But anyway, my Husband is from Downtown Manhattan and it's so funny to watch a stranger just walk up and talk to him. He just gets this really confused expression on his face, like a deer caught in headlights.

OP: ignore it. :toast:
