Getting off Analogs

I went 14 straight days on my eGo with no problems. I was happy at the throat hit and flavor from all the liquid I purcashed. I bought 24mg and 18mg, mixture of flavors and pg/vg. Then one day I really was wanting an analog, after the first drag yuck yuck yuck, but puffed through it. I had one more analog that day. The next day (tuesday) I went all day vaping, vaped wednesday morning that afternoon, I smoked all day. :( I want to be off the analogs totally. I have read from other posts that some have an analog from time to time which is okay. However I am finding myself wanting an analog moreso now than in my first 14 days. I am loving my vaping experience, am I doing something wrong? Do I need to find my flavor to get me off the analogs? Any ideas? :vapor:

    Somewhere between here and there
It could possibly be that your body is starting to cleanse your body of the chemicals and such that you got from smoking and don't from vaping. You could try some stronger liquid to see if that helps. Some people like myself don't function well without the alkaloids that are in tobacco and substitute my vaping with swedish snus. It took me a couple months initially to finally quit smoking. Don't feel like it's a contest or race. Do it at your own pace. You will be surprised how easy it will come when you don't force it.

I agree with both the previous posts. I would suggest getting some 36mg liquid for during those especially difficult times. And although I recommend the eGo regularly, you might find that a good 5 volt mod would also help. It took me a month and a half to completely eliminate analogs. I smoked 4-8 a day during that timeframe. Getting a good 5 volt mod finally did the trick for me. Just don't give up and keep working on it. And don't beat yourself up over having an analog.

I endorse all of the above. I vape because I love it so, not to avoid analogs (although that certainly is a nice consequence). You need to find your own combination of PV, watts, nicotine level, and flavor to love.

You didn't mention what model e-cig you're using. If it is a super-mini (or even some of the minis), it is no wonder to me that you are not satisfied. The 510 atomizer, especially on a Fat Batt (what I call the eGO-types) is the most popular and likely to be effective. I prefer the penstyle atomizer (e.g., 801).

wv2win's recommendation of a 5V mod is one way to increase the watts (i.e., the intensity of the vape). I outline some of them in this post of my Wonderful World of Mods, although I short-changed the inexpensive box mods, such as the $35 KVS Big Kazoo. Another way is by using LR (low-resistance) atomizers, available from just about any supplier these days. I talk more about these here.

And your own idea of trying different flavors is excellent. Perhaps first discover whether you prefer a tobacco or non-tobacco flavor. For me, non-tobaccos (other than a strong coffee) are pleasant changes of pace, but not as effective for satisfying my cravings. And then which specific flavors (and there are hundreds) by which mixers (scores of them) you like. ViZi's e-Liquid Database is an outstanding compendium of juice (by continent of the creator) ... and I talk about e-liquid in Part III of the WWV V2. Samplers are great for this experimentation. Some of the suppliers are listed here.

I too agree with all the above. My best advice came from Rob at LiquidXpress - vape low, top off high when needed - so wv2win's idea of getting some 36mg ejuice (perhaps the same flavor as you're now vaping) is good for topping off when you 'feel the need'. But when not, vape at the lower level nicotine, so as not to continue to create the dependance. 50% of the habit is the visual on the 'smoke/vapor' so let that be at lower levels of nicotine mostly.

Another trick I did was when I got the urge I decided to first hit the ecigarette for three hits and if I still wanted a cigarette after that I'd have one - but the three hits from the ecig did away with the urge. And don't consider it a 'loss' if you smoke a cigarette. It's why I never had a banner of 'how long without cigs' :)
