I still have an unopened pack of cigarettes in my desk drawer. Kept it just for the heck of it. Originally knowing it was there help not smoke it in a weird kind of way. Over 2 years old now so would probably be double nasty to smoke.

I think that I know exactly what you mean and also how you felt about it, because I did the exact same thing too!

I quit 3 years ago, and I too had a pack or two of cigs lying around, and maybe I'm a sadist, but I kept my pack right in front of me on the living room table for many months, just so that I could taunt myself.

I'd be sitting there vaping with my little pen vape, trying out different kinds of juices and staring at the pack of cigs that was right in front of me on the table.

Never once did I ever open it or smoke anything from it. I threw it out a long time ago, but having the pack there actually helped me in the beginning, because it proved that I didn't need it and that I was stronger than it, with a whole lot of help from my little vape pen of course.

Greetings

Do you guys dual use?

No. Was a long-time smoker and stopped smoking the first day I started vaping. I am more of an all or nothing person.

How many puffs do you think equal to a cig for you?

I do not count either. I have heard 400 vape pulls is equal to a pack so that's 20 per cig. I really do not know.

How did you guys managed to demonize analogues?

I never did. I don't care if others smoke around me. I can smell when someone lights up even if I am pretty far away so I think my nose has gotten more sensitive but I do not really care. I do notice that I can smell smoke in someone's home or on their clothes and that is a bit "icky". Overall, I am satisfied with myself and my vaping so what others are doing (or not) does not bother me. Maybe I am just cold and aloof - I just do not care.

Did you managed to put it off completely? Analogues or the whole nic thing?

Well, I started with custom nic level in the 50 range which is pretty high. After almost 7 years I am now at around 3. I would like to eventually get to 0 but it is not a top priority for me.

As for flavors - I was a Marlboro red smoker - started with tobacco flavors - the flavors I liked were discontinued and I never found another good one. I switched years ago and now vape coffee, vanilla, and caramel flavor profiles. When I find something that works for me I stick with it.

I demonized my cigs. There are many reasons. As to how many vapes equals a cig, the question is better framed as, how many vapes to get a one hour fix and at what mg of Nic juice.

I started out high and did like 4-5 vapes. Then, I just slowly lowered the Nic over time. Life gets in the way so my body got used to the small drops.

Easy-peasy if you get an attitude with the devil. I just woke up and didn't smoke anymore. Vaping works.

When i first started vaping, i stopped smoking completely at that very moment. 18mg nic and a 20w device that i usually kept around 8 to 10w, depending on the flavor i was using. Whenever i felt like smoking, i would vape like mad til the urge passed. Three months in, at deer camp, i broke down a smoked about half a pack in 3 days. Still, thats better than 2 ppd that i did before vaping. Then i didnt touch another cig for the longest time. In times of high stress i have a couple cigs just to get nicotine fast. But they taste so bad now that im confident ill never go back to smoking full time again. Even now, 10 months into vaping, cig use is few and far between. Dont worry if you relapse, just start over.

Hey Guys! Thanks for all the replies. Its cool to hear your stories.
Im happy that you guys already did it :)

@stols001 wow, im trying to get my mom to vape, hes a heavy smoker (not as heavy as you were) and she got COPD too. She really likes the flavors i DIY, but i didnt yet found one that will get her off the "wrong" path yet. :(

I hope your mom transitions successfully. What kind of flavors have you tried? She might enjoy a tobacco flavoring or even an NET (that can be done DIY, but it's pretty complicated).

You might look at heather's heavenly vapes they have some nice NETs that offer some different options and they don't tend to be gunky. Finding the right flavor can be as important as finding the right vape. Best of luck you and your mom.

I too still love the smell of tobacco burning.

I finally took the plunge with the Endura T18. Messed around dual for some time. I smoked Parliament 100's and the T18 tank is almost a replica of the end of the Parliament cigarette. Great flavor coils. We had two kids so I smoked in the garage for 30 years. I still treat vaping like cigs, vape for 5 minutes and then put it down.

My challenge was a trip to Philadelphia shortly after I gave up the cigs. Walking from 30th street station to my destination I thought, wow, everyone is smoking and I really wanted one.
I stopped, vaped I bit, and walked on. I got through that day.

Months later we took a cruise. Probably 3 to 400 smokers on the ship, maybe 15 vapers. I still love the comeraderie of the smoking area ( even though it was ok to vape in cabin) and still had six packs in a partially used carton just in case I needed them. Left them with the cabin steward and never looked back since.

Have just gotten into mixing. The whole thing is in fact a big hobby, which smoking is, well, just smoking. Different flavors, smoking cigs the same all the time. Different mods and tanks. I even do DTL but only at night. Still want that cig alike in the morning.

In the end I left a habit behind, and found a new an interesting adventure. Oh, and the wife let me come in from the garage!

Best of luck.
