 Sorry to be a pain, but I am beyond frustrated. I am using ego-t 1300mah batteries with the ce5 style clearomizers. At first the flavor was great using mount baker ejuice, now not so much. I have 1.8ohm heads and 2.4ohm heads. I decided to give them a good cleaning 2 days ago and ever since they are not very pleasant. I took them apart, soaked them in vodka, rinsed them and let them dry. I then put them back together and the taste just wasn't there like before so I took the drip tips off, rinsed them out and dry burned them thinking that maybe the coils had some build up on them. Refilled and still tasted like crap on top of a burnt taste. Tonight I took them all apart once again, changed out all the heads and wicks for brand new ones and it still tastes like crap. I have no idea what I did wrong or what happened but the taste is just not there anymore with either of the ohms. Almost tastes burnt still. I did leave the caps off of my e-juice in the cupboard to steep them like I've seen people post but I'm not sure if that would be a problem. Any help would be greatly, greatly appreciated. I really want to get some Vision Vivi Novas but do not want to waste any more money than I have already if I can't figure out what the problem is.

Thanks
Jason

I stopped using clearomizers months ago. They are expensive, very inconsistant, often mute flavors, and sometimes leak. Not to mention that certain flavors will cause them to crack or melt. I didn't have a much better experience with the Vivi Nova tanks, either. My opinion only, any string-wicked delivery device is going to disappoint me.

I recommend trying a cartotank. Instead of just two string wicks attempting to bring juice (flavor) to the heating coil, a cartomizer's heating coil is surrounded by polyfil fiber soaked with juice (flavor). Using one with punched holes in it allows the use of a tank, which keeps the polyfill drenched in juice and resupplies it each time you take a vape.

I've written a series of six articles for beginning vapors, many which are on cartomizers and cartotanks. I invite you to take a look at these and to consider trying a cartotank. I've been using them for several months and they are much better than the above delivery devices.

I prefer carto tanks too. If you are heart set on wick tanks you may want to look into the Kanger Pro tank. The wick feeds at the bottom, which I think is a better design. It doesn't leak and you can change the wicks when needed.

Ok, I am convinced to try the carto and tank set up..What is the best kind to use with the ego batteries? Single or dual coil? Also, how long does a carto last before you need to replace it so I know how many to order..Once again sorry for all of the questions. I love vaping and have not bought a pack of smokes in almost 3 weeks so it is definitely working for me.

For pyrex I recommend IBTanked 19mm diameter tanks IBTanked - Get Tanked With Us! or the new Skinny Phinny's by Phiniac The Skinny Phinny - Phiniac Glass .

For polypropylene I recommend the DCT tanks at My Vapor Store 510 Pro DCTank Combo

I've seen mixed reviews of the Artemis tanks in the tank forum. Buyer beware.

Expect a carto to last 1-3 weeks in a tank. You'll know when to change the carto when the pull becomes stiff and the flavor starts tasting bad. Thick and dark juices will last a shorter amount of time.

All the other questions you asked are answered in my blog articles 1-6 which I already gave you the link earlier. Congrats on the not smoking!

I also started with clearo's and quickly switched to carto's. After deciding I liked carto's much more I got some tanks. I agree with Baditude, the IBTanked tanks are very easy to set up and at a nice price. I've only used single coil carto's as I've heard it's easier to burn the filling in a dual coil. The way I understand it the second coil draws liquid from the upper portion of the polyfill which doesn't get much liquid to it when in a tank. Just remember you can always just start with carto's and get a tank later on if you like them.
