I have a few comments about the forum. This is the best place to come to for information, and just chatting with friends. However I noticed a few things that I would like people to think about. Please don't take my comments the wrong way because I am guilty of some of the same things.

Everyone is excited, and proud of their e-cig, and are willing to help others and share their experiences. When helping others, be sure to give complete information, and only facts, as you know them. What is good for you, is not necessarily good for others.

The following are just general examples, and should not be taken as a personal attack.

Some new people state that they have a respiratory condition, and ask if the e-cig is good. Your opinion and experience is GREAT, but please tell them to consult a medical professional before starting. We don't want to be the cause of a terrible accident.

Many people say things like "a manual switch is the best". Try to remember that a newbie with a brand new shiny e-cig, may have difficulty understanding this, and may burn $100.00 worth of atomizers from inexperience.

A favorite of mine is, Get an EVO. I hace two EVO's myself, and like them, but people that recommend them are failing to note that they cannot be used in noisy enviroments because they are sound sensitive. So the newbie buys one and takes it to his job in a saw mill, and finds nothing but problems with it.

Some recommend certain power adaptors for passthroughs, and the newbie buys it, and then finds out there isn't enough power to run it.

These are only a few examples. Lets all be as helpful as possible, but when offering information, we need to give complete information, and make a note if something is unclear. If it's a personal opinion, please say so up front.

As is said earlier, please don't take this the wrong way. Lets do our best to get everyone on board with as few problems as possible.

Azure , typing everything in BOLD really doesn't get your point over any better you know :)

we know your a mod 'cause it says so above your piccy ..

so many same questions get asked all the time , it gets very repetative , new members should really use the search function and the mods should lock threads that ask questions that have been asked sooo many times before.

It certainly IS very frustrating for someone looking for information, as oposed to opinion. I recently talked to a lad that was going to put off using a PV just because of the mis-information being expressed. I hope I was able to put him at ease, because his mother is suffering from COPD and it really worried him about the factual research regarding vaping. None of us with all certaintly can say it is good for us. What is patently obvious is that it is certainly far better than smoking tobacco, as per research, perhaps a 1000 times safer. Chewing snus has been found safer. Even that has proven (Belgium) to be way down the list at being carcinogous form of tobacco. So it comes down to the vaporizing of the elements of the juice. We just have to be careful here, as Jim said, if it's opinion, that's fine, but if it is from research include stats, links if possible, or sources, if known. We have to be careful participants in the endeavor, or it may prove to be a downfall. LOOK for TRUTHS, share them, this is the best place in the world to come together with all this. A clever joke or two once in awhile is nice also! KNOWLEDGE IS WEALTH

I agree 100%, but in reality, a new member is excited and ready to jump in with both feet. They never use a search function, or read through the sticky threads. Hell, when I was new to this, I read *nothing*, I was too busy having orgasms over my new toy.

[sarcasm]That's good to know "ApO", I'll be sure to get your seal of approval the next time I want to bold one of my posts.[/sarcasm]

I could care less if you know that I'm a moderator, it's my choice to post however I see fit (so long as it is within the confines of the rules).

This is the second time you have posted in reference to me, "heck even the latest mods are new users..makes me wonder..".

If you have some kind of problem with me, feel free to take it to a PM.

Otherwise, keep it to yourself and get over it.

If you read everything, your head *will* explode! The e-cig is a lot of trial & error. I broke my first atomizer because of curiosity, and destroyed 30ml of Johnson Creek Vanilla juice from being just plain stupid.

It comes with the territory.

Indeed, like me pulling on the wick part of my 510 atomizer thinking it was a piece of cartridge fuzz. Whoops.. there went that one. btw I didn't find out it was the wick part until after some creative searching :)

Good points - being very new to the whole e-cig market all information is appreciated. I read and looked "enough" to get me to a purchase and now keep coming back.

The health issues should be dealt with carefully - I found after 5 days in that I *feel* less of the effects of smoking but I have no idea as yet if that isn't a placebo effect at work. I still smoke several regular cig's a day, so my observations won't give much true data for awhile I would think.

For me this is something of a revolution. I've smoked since I was a teenager, brief spells of cutting back. I'm attempting to completely assess and analyze what the smoking habit is for me, straight up. I'd like to quit. My sense is that the e-cigs break the old habit patterns sufficiently and establish new ones that accomodate choice rather than blind habit. The phyiscal changes are so dramatic that my brain's recalibrating and in that mode, I can see what I'm doing as I do it easier. I think. :D I may be fooling myself. The nicotine hit is still there of course. I do hope there are health benefits and it makes sense based on what I've read but anecdotal results alone won't truly level set.

In my opinion, if you smoke any regular cigs, you may never be able to quit totally. The e-cig is giving you the nicotine, but there are other addictive chemicals in the smoke itself. You have to learn to puff the e-cig, and do not give in the the urges to have a regular ciggie. You *will* feel withdrawal symptoms, but they're not terrible. Set your mind to fight the urge for a regular cig, and puff on the e-cig. The urges will go away after a while.

ROFL!! I did that too. I was pluckin' away trying to get the filler material off the bridge of the atty and I was thinking this is a lot of stuff lol! I didn't know it was the wick part until I put me specs on.

I think Elendil has a good thing with his copy/paste posts responding to newbies. I might try that and save some time.

awww... glad to see Red is back Jim.

I had to say it, and tried to put my rant across politely. I even put on my asbestos underwear, excepting to get flamed, but it seems to be a worthwhile post.
