you should try the 1.8 ohm coil. for me, this works best @ 3.7v

I seen others post about the muted flavor part. When I go back and forth between an eRoll and a cigalike with an Ikenvape cartomizers it is like night and day in flavor.

Next by doing a lot of digging I have been finding out that there are some cigalike batteries made to different standards that seem to not get noticed. High drain cigalike batteries exist, took me a long time to find that out as most of the higher end users are looking at Mods. There are cigalike batteries I found out that have 3amp cutoffs in them and can handle the load. I think they don't get notices because they cost twice as much and the cigalike group on average is the new people.

Look at the discharge rates on this battery. The eRoll does not have the horse power to compete with some of these batteries. 63 minutes before dropping below 4v under load at 2.3ohms. There are some that can stay above 3.7v at 1.5ohms for 45 minutes. These are 66mm cigalike batteries.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...apor-titan-king-diamond-tech-info-review.html Yes these are the common cigalike size so a little larger but manageable.

Look at the posts of DawnBella, she has several times mentioned things in the eRoll size class that have out performed it. She got an eRoll and found tiny things that did better. Unfortunately for her they changed the cartomizers after she found some things she liked.

I started seeing all kinds of posts about how the eRoll blew away all the cigalikes they had tried. I think what was happening is they were being compared with low level and mid level batteries. Not the $24.95 cigalike batteries. If he sales volume on batteries such as these increased the prices would go down but they will be more expensive than the batteries with lower C values and not based on high drain chemistry.

I think part of what is happening the idea that that $12.00 battery is just as good as that $24.00 battery. I am learning that isn't true. Then it becomes that $9.00 battery is just as good as that $12.00 battery. Then it becomes that $6.00 battery is just as good as that $9.00 battery. That may have happened because of the V2's and Blu's of the world but all things are not like that and I am finding that out more and more as I explore things.

You may be on to something there jjoohhnn. It was my understanding that the eroll was a regulated device @3.7v. Could be that it doesn't have high enough discharge rate. I don't own an eroll (thought about getting one), so I can't test it at the moment. I was only assuming that, according to ohms law, this coil value (1.8)@ 3.7v would work well(as it does for me). If the battery isn't capable of the discharge rate (or wattage) then of course it will not perform as well.

I know that dragonbone is a veteran vapor. It really works well for her. She has quite the collection of gear to compare to, and it would only stand to reason that something she is doing (juice, coil value, etc) would make it adequate for her. Otherwise, she would not be using it. So i'm at a loss

I hope it works out for you

I'm afraid comparisons of "X" with the Eroll aren't possible. There's nothing similar to it to compare. For accuracy, like must be compared with like. Erolls, for me, fill a very specific nitch. It is the closest thing to a smoke I've encountered other than the Njoy Bold Disposable. For instance, I've put Dekang tobaccos in my big clearos with 3.3 or 3.7 volt 650 mah batteries... instant celery taste so many talk about. However, in the Eroll there's no celery taste at all and before trying them in the Egos, I couldn't figure out what people were talking about. In the Eroll, they really, really, simulate a smoke. I imagine that the same juice in a Boge LR carto would also taste of celery. Point is, I've never experienced a, say, pineapple smoke and wouldn't choose an Eroll if I was looking for that. So, all-in-all, when I want a "smoke," I reach for my Eroll. When I want a highly-flavored "X," I reach for one of my big clearos (including another Joye product... the Ego CC with the same atty as the Eroll) and would reach for a carto if I didn't have one available. Any product must be accessed in terms of the user's needs. The same product is not going to fit everyone's needs and, thus, cannot be judged "good" or "bad" universally. For the noob looking for that magic "smoke" simulation in a vape, I'll still be recommending Erolls to them if they want a rechargeable and Njoy or Flings if they want a disposable.

You didn't say anything that is not common fare out here. I can tell you this was the most disappointing purchase I have made based on expectations since i consider it a downgrade from my other most portable devices. I did finally get the what might be the best highly portable solution I have yey found in the mail today. Time will tell if it holds up the promise I see in it.

I was looking for something specific and when I would make posts about what I was looking for the eRoll would come up and some people declared it the best of its type. I should have paused and asked those people what all they have tried. There was more out there to read than possible but I have since found other people making the same complaints about it that I have found.

Instead of it being declared the very best some revelation about it's short comings should have been mentioned as well. I don't mean the published stuff, I knew going into it it had a low battery and juice capacity. I ran across many of the issues finally in the 214 post review thread after I had found them on my own.

This is what was in my top right drawer, the second picture is what is currently on my desk. There is a ton more elsewhere. Two of the eRolls are on the far left just past my sideways username.

ecig1.jpgecig2.jpg

In the cigalike pictures the only ones I cannot beat the performance on an eRoll with is that Blu and V2 setting there. With Ikenvape cartomizers I am getting better results. I have seen that several people don't like the eGo C atomizer. I didn't realize that till after I tried them. The regulated at 3.7v cigalikes do pretty well but I am going to abandon them, I think I have tried almost everything out there, the last one I tried was much better than any of the rest but does not get as much mention as many other batteries. They just arrived today and thet walk all over all the other cigalike batteries I have had so far. The difference is they can maintain above 4v for an hour and if I remember right can carry a 3.5 amp load. The difference is big enough that I don't intend to use any of the other cigalike batteries any more.

I am guessing 90% of my usage comes from Provaries. The only eGo types I will use are the modified ones form Ikenvape, the rest that I have not gotten rid of yet just set. Maybe 8% of my usage is the cigalikes.

Joye missed a big opportunity I think with the eRoll, they would not have been able to compete with the high drain batteries but with the slightly smaller format they could have had a real winner. They could have kept the charging rings but if they would have threaded the people that do not like the tank atomizer from the eGo C would start having options. The 306a at 3.2v was just not going to cut it with people but this could have been been a 3.7v 306a with front end charging. People have posted you need to up your nic levels with this, that would not be needed if they had threaded it. I have seen quite a few posts about the taste being muted, if it had been threaded the fairly good sideshow cartomizers would have worked in it and others should have made even better stuff. I have learned after having this and trying some other things that I don't want anything with a Joye C atty in it.

I don't think Joye will ever go with high drain batteries since that would up their costs but maybe they will some day.

From the little box beside of my desk. Much more elsewhere. I have already given away a ton of stuff as well. I am trying to narrow it down to three models of devices but multiples of the three models. I also have boxes of various delivery devices. As hard as it will be to believe I am not a big fan of eGo's.

From doing some digging I have found some that have said the much larger eGo 1000 mah batteries have a 2.5 amp limit while there are some cigalike batteries whos safety is set at 3 or 3.5 amps. The difference in C rating has to be massive when a 200mah battery is being compared to a 1000mah battery. It costs more to do this however. I have no desire to push 3 amps though a 65mm battery but 2 amps is giving really nice results. The high drain cigalike batteries can duke it out with an eGo C twist. It cannot batch a Provari or the big battery mechanicals but they can compete with the eGo C twist except for run time,

The thing I see though is when people ask what the highest performance cigalike is the ones mentioned don't have these kind of numbers.

Here is a little about the performance on a high drain 65mm long battery.

link

I have been using them today and the difference can be felt. At 2.3ohms they are holding over 4v for 63 minutes. At 1.5ohms, which is unsafe many cigalike batteries the high drain ones can sustain over 3.7v for 45 minutes. The SI's can't do this, the Halo batteries can't do this.

The thing is these are $24.95 a piece 65mm batteries. Are these the best batteries around? I don't know if they are or not but I do know I don't need to go to 2ohms to get performance out of these. I am getting good performance out of 2.2ohms. Of course batteries like this don't have to be run hard if you don't want to.

I will still look for the best cigalike batteries I can find and so far these are the best I have tried.

So I'm not very knowledgable about cartomizers, but I think that's the system I had in my old Joyetech 510 (2009). How many times can you disassemble and clean a cartomizer? How much are the cartomizers your using? And how long does it take to refill a cartomizer? Sorry for all the questions, I just don't know much about them.

I used cartomizers my first six months vaping. I used Boge LR ones. They deliver nice taste and are recommended by P Busardo. I stayed away from clearos after reading how they mute flavor. Then I got an Eroll for the specific needs I have mentioned earlier. Thats what broke me in on clearo/tank-like devices and I was impressed so got the new Joye CCs to use the same atomizer plus a few other clearos to try. On the cartomizers... I am now spoiled by clearos. I used to spend so much time cleaning cartomizers, washing and waiting to dry and never got them truly clean. It now gives me the heebee geebees thinking about what I was inhaling. I still have five unopened boxes of them and will keep them only for dire emergencies but will never spend another day cleaning and will just pitch them. The best price I found was $7.00 for 5 in a box if you bought 3 boxes at once... less if you bought more boxes... don't remember the break down just now. (Surevapes) Their longevity depends on your juice. As you can imagine, a tiny atomizer wire running the length of the carto filler with anything beyond 30% VG and its going to gunk fast.... not to mention a dark juice and what its going to do to the filler itself. It just seems way unhygienic to me now... yuck. Alcohol rinse at the end of cleaning helped cut the drying time down to just over a day but I always worried about mold setting in... just a personal thing really... plus the taste of the alcohol was awful to me. I'm glad to be done with the hassle... one of which was having to label cartos because I could never fully get the taste of the juice out cleaning and had to make sure I put the same juice in cleaned ones. Hope that helps and, of course, its just one person's perspective.

Oh.. you asked... the longevity depends on your juice. You might get a month from a high PG clear one. If you're very, very, careful cleaning, you might get use after one, sometimes two, cleanings but that's about it. Performance drops way off. There is absolutely nothing that tastes as bad as burnt filler material. Filling is not a big deal... youtubes will show how to condom fill and on first fill experienced users let it set from 20 to 30 minutes for a good soak.... but you do have to get the hang of it... learning curve... after that top offs of about 8 drops every 20 minutes or so depending on vape rates... to keep a good vape going. Of course, you can't use it to taste-test. I had to have drip atomizers for that separately. Love not having to use those to taste test with clearos... just a quick rinse of the head and what I was testing is gone.

You don't have to take them apart. A lot has to do with the quality of the carto. I have had an Iken carto go 5mls a day for three weeks without cleaning, I have had some cartos that were not that good after three days. I find cartos simple, I just boil them twice after I have a bunch accumulated and let them dry.

Carto quality does vary a lot. I was using Boge until someone suggested Iken and Ikens are the only ones I use now. The problem it Ikens is getting them. When he gets a run of the Fusion cartomizers in they are sold out the same day.

I have many different models of cleros and I don't like a single one of them as much as a good quality carto.

On the Joye tanks I finally started noticing posts that mentioned muted, you might need to up your nic level, you might need to use liquids with more flavor. I didn't catch it the first time but Pete said it was muted.

I started noticing comments here and there about the C atomizer like in post 4 in this thread. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/apv-discussion/472188-joyetech-emode-1-a.html

I might be spoiled but now after trying to C atomizer in something else I see why so many people put cleros and carto tanks on eGo C batteries instead of using their tank system.

On vapor and throat hit when you don't count the liquid it is a function of what happens at the coil or atomizer what happens at the coil or atomizer is affected at getting the power to the coils is volts, ohms, internal resistance, how much the battery sags under load, how clean the power is if it is PWM.

Something seemed wrong when I would see things like hits like a freight trains for 3.7 regulated volts at 2.2 ohms. I thought there must be some major efficiencies going on in here. Maybe superior levels of low internal resistance, working better under load than other things, less power leached off before it got to the atomizer. What I think has been happening is this is getting compared to 3.2v stuff, some 3.7 stuff that starter grade stuff.

I have been looking for 6 months for hands free devices that has the best flavor and punch that not as many people are trying different combinations like the large devices so it is not being explored as much. I have also found quality levels and performance are all over the place.

By trying different batteries at different ohms I was already beating what the eroll can product in terms of vapor, throat hit, and flavor with several different combinations. Quite often the starter kit caromizers are not the best out there.

There is a lady out there that has been trying the very tiny stuff for four years and has noted that the eRoll was not as good as some of the other things she tried as well.

What I had been looking for is a high drain battery designed and built like what is being used in the big battery system but much smaller. Those never got suggested and lesser batteries were always recommended. Some said the high drain battery designs don't exist in cigalike batteries. I found out that was not the case and they do exist. That completely changes the game. Those seemed to have escaped notice and I think it is because people assume all batteries of a certain size are the same.

I appreciate all your research into this JJOHHNN. For clarity sake, you are trying out the V4L titan batteries and their empty cartos? The shortest batteries they offer?

Yes I am, they are outperforming everything I have tried. The combination I like the best is the Titan battery with an Iken cartomizer. Ikenvape is going to be introducing a 1.8ohm and 2.5ohm KR808D-1 cartomizer. I have some older Iken cartomizers in KR808D-1 and have been trying some 510 ones with an adapter.

The VL4 batteries have been excellent so far, their cartomizers are not bad but I think the Iken ones beat them.

I have three manuals here and two automatics on the way. After I test the automatics I am going to see if I can get anyone to trade the manuals for the same batteries in the automatic version. I will keep one of the three manuals.

They are the short ones.

What I really wish right now (well, in almost every thing I have) someone would have told me about these and told me the reasons I would probably like them better. If there is something better for what I am looking for I hope it gets mentioned. I guess that would have required someone else getting a bunch of things. I have boxes of stuff that I am not intending to use.
