From what ive been seeing they are now making 14500 Limn high drain batteries. I personally think a 14500 GG mod just a tad bit bigger then the battery would be perfect! A 14500 Limn with a LR901/801/510 would be perfect and small packing a punch as well, plus improved battery life. Maybe the new grant can be based on this battery? I thing it could be a great seller and priced right being small and basic...
:toast: Just some thoughts~

Keon, the new GrantV2 will be ready for 2xcr2 and 14500 too so no worries friend:)

Some very good thoughts, Keon, however, I would say that it would be a mistake to base the new Grant on the LiMN 14500 for a few reasons:

Firstly, the LiMN battery is going to be smaller than other 14500s and so this would restrict people to only using that battery due to nothing else being able to fit in the device.

Secondly, you should really only use PCB protected batts with LR atties because you want them to cut-out when they get too discharged - you risk ruining LiMN batts without realising with LR atties.

Thirdly, the capacity of LiMN batts is a lot lower than standard li-ions so you'd be providing users with limited battery life from the get-go.

Just use spacer magnets to use a LiMN 14500 instead of Li-ion. I do this all the time with my current Grant.

Yes as you said this was all just some thoughts....

Imeo if you make the GG Grant longer for the 1000 mah cr2's then it wont fit the 14500 battery very well.. The battery will be loose in the GG and that wont be good. Maybe the best bet is to make the GG grant 17mm in width and sizing the length to regular cr2's that way the GG grant can stay some what versatile. a 17mm width (outside) would be a really nice size GG.... :)

I will put a bigger spring Grimmer, no worries buddy:)

As for the width, I will tell you how the dimensions work: We have a 15,6 mm width of cr2 battery so we need 16mm hole, so 17mm threads, so 18mm total width. Anything less than that will break easy or it will get damaged with the first fall from our hands.

well when you put it that way.... it makes a lot more since. so yea 18mm width sounds good and that would make it 2mm smaller in width than the original. :) Oh do you think you could make different attie caps for those who love 510 atties? After having the GGTS for a while, adapters seems to be a pain. But what ever you go with I will still get one. :)

If you put internal threads on the body, can't we earn a mm? The cups will have to be 1mm thicker but on the inside only.

I am talking for internal body threads Jumi. If hole is 16mm then the internal threads have to be 17mm and the external width 18mm:)

I still say 14500 ONLY device. We already have the perfect device for using 6v. With the LR atty the 14500 Protected battery from AW is an awesome set up. I really think smaller is better for this model imeo... everyone wants this and that but I think we should be thinking smaller, smaller, smaller, to keep up with the current changes in the market. Like I said, we already have our Cr2, 18650, etc device in the TS and it is wonderful, but it is also big diameter speaking.... And the Slim is nice but those batteries.....

SMALL!!!! I say 16mm OUTSIDE...

You mean 17 outside Keith. Hole has to be a little bigger than 14mm because if it is 14mm then batteries will not fit. So we will earn 1mm and 5mm in length. Maybe we must do a poll?
