well 18mm isnt bad but if Imeo can get it down to 17mm oooooooooohweeeeeee perfect size..... but you guys want the grant to get down to 16mm but that means he would have to keep the inside tube around 14.5mm the very least and then shave half a mm in the thickness which is not a good idea. 16.5mm would have to be the least it could go and 17mm would be playing it safe.

but if Imeo goes down in size with the grant then the locking button needs to slim down to meet the new size of the grant.

Just use spacer magnets to use a LiMN 14500 instead of Li-ion. I do this all the time with my current Grant.
Yes, this is the best plan, I was referring to an instance if the Grant was made too short to even fit a protected 14500 in.

Imeo
Make sure you make it long enough for the 1000mAh protected CR2 batteries.
There are NO 1000mAh protected CR2s. They are 250mAh at best and not worth making this Grant bigger for. The entire market is gearing toward the smaller devices. I personally would like to see it fit standard CR2s, but I think the market is moving away from the configuration (specially now that we have LV atomisers) so I think it's best to make the new Grant a protected 14500 only device and make it AS SMALL as possible to fit this type of battery only!

Sorry Lisa I did see loads of GG bits on the table, I suppose I should have had a good ferret throught your bits!!!

Grant has a button on the base or side?
Side and yes, you should have examined my "bits" more carefully - you never know when you will next have the opportunity.

4th one in line is Grant with original button. next one is Grant with later locking button.

How about 16.5mm? Would that give you 2mm for threads and then .5mm for clearance?

KISS= Keep It Simple and SMALL....

I dont know if there are tools for 16,5 mm hole Keith. I wanted to make it like this but GG has to be done all of it on a machine. I dont know the cost for it but I will check it. But if there are no standaed tools for this kind of threads we will have a compatibility problem.:)

Thanks for that photo Lisa 4th and 5th do look spot on. 5th looks especially nice with the brass ends, but I like brass.

The only batteries I've really got any time for because they last and deliver a fresh battery feel for a reasonable time are: 18650, 18500, 14500 and 16340 all of which go nicely in the GGTS, but a shirt pocket option for 14500 would be grand. The 18500 is better, but too big around for the job.
I'm not bothered about a 6-7.4v option as I have that already.

I have 1000mAh protected CR2s in my GGTS as I type this. I know manufactures overstate the capacity but they do exist.

I have another idea. A better one.

1) We want a 3,7 volt GG?
2) We want a slim GG
3) We want a small GG
4) We want a powerful GG

If yes, why not make:

1) A 16340 GG?
2) Thinner than the original one that was really slim
3) 15mm shorter than the 14500 option
4) 900-1800 mah battery inside

A GG for 16340 wouldn't be 2mm thicker than a GG for 14500? It will be just a little thinner than current GGTS with a 16340 which is not a reason to not use GGTS for this (just to be 2mm slimmer).

But with 14500 it will be 4mm thinner than GGTS (maybe even more) so I think we are better with a 14500. Even better if it just takes 14500 (and not be able for 6V at all) so it will be the smaller possible and lasts a full day of vaping :w00t::headbang:

So, if someone wants everything and don't care about size will get a GGTS. If someone wants something very small, light and discreet will get a 14500GG. I think most of us will get both because most of us need both on different occasions.

Features I would like to see on it are:
- Fuse (only if it is not going to make it bigger)
- Vented cup
- Lockable switch
- Very light and small
- Indestructible (as all GGs)

A GG with a 16340 (19mm thick) would be 2mm thicker than a 14500 GG (17mm thick) but thinner than the previous Grant (20mm and it was thin enough) and 4 mm thinner than the GGTS (23mm).

As for the length, a 16340 GG (65mm in length) would be 20mm shorter than a 14500 GG (85mm in length)!!!

So better to have a 2mm thicker GG (but still slim and slimmer than the Grant) than 20mm longer GG.

As for the power, the 14500 battery has 900 mah power and a 16340 has 1800 mah power!

So for the people that care about a very small GG for some occasion, the best one is a 16340 GG to my opinion.

Please check the 6th GG to the photo that Lisa upload and think that GG 16340 would be a little thinner, about 1mm.

About the features you would like to see on it: It will have what you asked exept the fuse.

- Vented cup
- Lockable switch
- Very light and small
- Indestructible (as all GGs)

What do you say about all these Jumi?

I say go for it... you might be able to make it around 18.5mm. I think the most popular 16340 batteries are the trust fire, ultra fire, and high drain. Maybe you can base the dimensions off those batteries for the inside of the GG. So possibly 16.5mm inside 17.5mm threads and 18.5mm outside. But 19mm would be playing it safe.... :)

Or do both GG's 14500 and 16340.... why not both would sell very well. :)

Both i think would sell without a doubt, Best thing may be for Imeo come with 2 GG's to satisfy needs between both....:pA poll would only benefit the top choice, but to build both would be pleasing all. Some of my friends like small and very compact 16340 size mod and others like 14500 mod's. Its a win win situation, Plus cost would be lower due to less matierial being used im thinking and affordable to those not wanting to go high.... The whole key is powerful and small GG ofcourse with locking switch that is!
