yeah something like that... I'm trying to convince them to at least try and get a backup of the wiki. I could probably host it on my idle website I got... or at least get the GG part out of it and post it somewhere else.

Do you know what exactly is happening urba? If you say that you try to convince them means that you are in touch with them
I'm not sure just how dated all the info is in this link but if we do have to "rebuild", is this a good basis or do we want to just start fresh with a known reliable source like our GG people?
It seems to have Zor's drawings and such. Maybe some of you wiki type guys can check this out?

@Major S. that version is a bit dated... could be a last resort of sorts though, if we can't get the backup of the original... cheers for pointing it out 
It is a pretty good basis. Doesn't have the Russian version I think, and some of the later things that were added in later... Don't think I'd be up for doing the whole thing again, that initial push did take quite a bit of effort, and I just don't have the time to repeat the whole process. ALthough with a wiki it is pretty basic to do most things.

yeah there is a very real possibility of losing all that work... but, since there are a few copies on the internet, looks like we won't lose all of it, might just need to make the updates, if I can remember what they were... so much for not thinking about backing the original up... I kinda thought this e-cigarette-wiki thing was a long term thing...
I thought the same as you urba but I dont understand why this guy did what he did. Its a very strange situation
who knows really, what or why he did it, it is more like he didn't pay on time for the server... what caused this can be many things... maybe something happened to him... noone seems to have any contact with him...
If its a payment thing we can send him some money. But if we cant contact him there is no way to find a solution on this urba. He never answered to you?
Well, the GG has kept me from going back to regular cigs, I just paid my bills this week so next week's pay for me is freed up. Plus I know how to get a media wiki (The thing the powers most wiki's like wikipedia) up and running with database a new domain etc. and pay it off for a year or two. Problem is, we wouldn't be able to just restore the old one, and while I know how the GG works, I wouldn't say I'm super qualified to throw too much input into the ring beyond the basics for content.
So if need be that the old one isn't going to come back, I can provide the means if you all can provide the content again. Urban if you want to essentially run it again or if imeo you want to install a GG wiki onto your current site or however I can get them running. You can fire me off a PM with any ideas.

Hey, yeah, I think I'd manage installing a mediawiki without too much problem (have dabbled in PHP and SQL before), and I got a server that I pay for every year but don't use much anyways. The question would be just the choice of a domain name and a way to get the old content back in its entirety, because I don't feel like I'd be up for rewriting everything, even if it is not from scratch, but from some older version.
But yeah I think I'll give the local admins a month or so to figure it out. If nothing happens in that timeframe I will start a fresh one.
