Emma, can you take some pictures of your coil? Take out the rebuildable part from the base, give us a shot of both sides, maybe we'll be able to see what you did wrong :)

One common mistake is connecting the wrong end of the wire to the positive post, which creates a dead short through the Penelope base. Make sure the wire you connected to the center pin is the one running down the side with the ceramic

Another possibility is that your center pin is not making contact with your device. If this is the case, you need to screw the rebuildable part down further into the base so your positive pole can connect with your device's connector

I am useless!!! I finally got some wire/wick thanks to a couple of kind hearted people. I finally got a wick in Penelope and......NOTHING!!! It won't fire. I am so frustrated. I want to love this, but I can't do it right!

When you get it figured out with the help of these good people (and you will) it'll be a D'OH moment and smooth sailing thereafter. The Penelope is easily the most user friendly and fantastically vaping atomizer I've ever used.

I had that happen.

I can tell you exactly what's going on. You have a short. Meaning your negative wire is either not completely in the metal channel behind the wick and is hitting threads of the juice control.

OR

Your wire that goes through the ceramic is not tightened around your bottom nut very well and it's contacting something.

Edit: You know how I know this? I did both of these things and now a week and a half later I can build a coil in 3 minutes with my eyes closed. In fact I've messed this up 10 ways to sunday in the first few days. Please just keep at it...you will have a moment were it starts to work and you will love it. Then you will never make a mistake again. I'll be around for an hour or so to help out.

Listen to RiverNut. He's actually right. The Provari will give you OP when it has no Atomizer attached...meaning the post in the bottom might not be sticking out enough.

However the situation I mentioned will also cause OP. I would check what Rivernut mentions first. You have to give it a little extra twist so that the bottom connection is sticking out about 1/2 of a mm. You have to be able to just see it to work on a ProVari.

Yes I agree but mine was also saying OP when my wires were attached incorrectly.

However this is likely a post error. I took a picture of the post sticking out of the bottom. I do all my Penelopes like this and they work on all my ProVari's with no problem.

I assumed that was what the problem was, so I did it again.

To fill:

Close mouthpiece COMPLETELY and screw on the tank. Do not put the top part of the tank on. Dribble juice down the OUTSIDE of the mouthpiece so it goes in the tank down the side of the mouthpiece. Do not put the juice in the mouthpiece itself.

When done screw on top of tank. Open mouthpiece one small twist and get some juice. Once it starts vaping I usually keep it open 4 small twists as that's my desired juice level.

Also better picture of positive post:
