Bruce - I just got my GGTB buttons from the pre-order, and they are the same length as the GGTS buttons. :(
Not as short as the old TB button I have .... was there a mistake in my order?

New button on left, old button I had on right ....

How long is the wait for a GG? Any GG.

If you are looking for PV's and not atomizers I would expect 4-5 months minimum. Imeo is making Ithaka now which is a rebuildable tank system. Once those are done he will move onto another build. Proteus may be in the works if he got the electronics worked out.

In the past month I've got an Ody stuck on top of a SS GGTS twice and had a helluva time getting it off. I always keep the threads greased with vaseline and I'm not sure what's causing it. The first time a battery went bad and my button got very hot and I figured that was the culprit. Ended up spraying the top part of GGTS and bottom part of Ody with Liquid Wrench and letting it soak in oil overnight before I could break it loose. Once I finally got it loose I gave it a good bath with warm water and soap plus washed it down good with alcohol before vaping it again. Damn thing still tasted like oil for a week hahaha. Now it's stuck again and there was no apparent problem like the hot button this time. Anybody got any ideas on what is causing this. Don't wanna have to go thru this ordeal again. Thanks - Smitty

I'm assuming you're talking about the ggts base sticks in the collection tank. How easily does it screw in in the first place? Mines very smooth with no play to speak of, then when fully in it comes to a sudden stop. It's hard for me to imagine it getting stuck. If your cranking it tight I'd stop doing that other than that try backing it off a hair after you screw it in, then tighten up the telescope and see what happens. I really don't know what circumstances lead to galling(sp?). Are there any obvious marks on the threading, male or female?

Only thing I can come up with is possibly it is siezing on. If rubber grips don't help I would recommend unscrewing it once a day or so. I tend to remove mine when I refill.

thats good advice, i had a sticking problem as well. i realized no matter how carful i was when i filled the tank i was over cranking it down into the base.
loosening or removing the tank wile filling has eliminated the problem for me.

Did you try backing off the bottom section? Unscrewing the tele a 1/2 turn? Sometimes my ody gets stuck, but it's not that it's stuck, it's that the two pos pins lock together just right. I now loosen the tele tune about 1/2 turn and then easily unscrew ody.

The problem has baffled me. I have 4 GGTS's and have been using GGTS for about 3 years now so I'm pretty familiar with how to use them - but not a guru for sure. I've never had this happen before and so far it's happened twice and on the same GGTS which makes me suspect a thread problem. But the threads appear to be fine. It seizes right where Ody screws into GGTS at the top cap but doesn't do it all the time??? Only other thing I suspect is that I recently purchased the new GGTS Adapter which makes it not necessary to use 510 to 901, 901 to 510 adapters or the Ody GGTS base and I wonder if somehow the GGTS Adapter could be causing it so seize up? And when it seizes everything from the GGTS Connector to the Ody base is all bound together in one piece and it takes penetrating oil and 2 pairs of channel locks to get them apart. Even using a soft cloth under the channel locks my GGTS Connector, Control Ring, Collector Tank and Ody base is getting all scratched up. But that's the only way I could get them apart.

That's a possibility Poppa and now I'm just tightening it to where it's just barely snug and completely remove Ody to refill. Maybe when screwing the cap back on after refilling I was getting Ody tighter than I realized? Now I need to figure out the best way to buff out these scratches and hope I don't have to put more scratches on it.

Maybe the air holes are burred on the inside? They're right at the bottom of the threads in the collector tank, and since they're drilled inwards, sometimes there are little bits of metal protruding inwards. I've just sort of scratched them off with a flathead because they snag towels/q-tips when cleaning. Often when threads seize there is something wedged between them, so perhaps it's a little bit of this metal.
