May I think out loud?

Imeo has already told us that the buyers of the Transformer have to pay an extra £5 to cover the cost of a locking button.

Would it not be fair, to those with older GG's to charge them that same £5 to have a lockable button fitted, even though this is a different button?

My line of thought is that the Trans owners will be paying £5 and those made from now on will have the new button, so that £5 would have to be charged to anyone wanting that button anyway..

Does that make any sense at all?

Hmmmmm.....
How 'bout I play Devils advocate here..... and say that if this was an issue of asthetics, I would agree with you, but because this is an issue of Safety, I think that the manufacturer should cover the cost of the switch, but the owner should cover the cost of shipping and handling.

Now I'll switch hats and say that Imeo could simply incorporate the 5 pounds into the shipping and handling cost, and everybody would go away happy!

Bottom line is that I feel the switches need to be changed. This IS a safety issue, and it's much cheaper in the long run to deal with changing a switch, rather than deal with potential problems dealing with loss of property and potentially, loss of life.

That looks good, I'm guessing it's just rubber or insulator bushed now?

button grounding issues - fixed. Yay.
protected batteries - check. Yay.

Now, the only remaining Qs:
1. Does this mean we can still get Xformers 'plain' without the electrostatic paint?
2. The drop in resistance 'pack' :)

Weg, the video shows that the button is not rubbered and the GG is not painted. GG is the same as it was, without the issue with the metal surfaces;);)

I do hope that something can be worked out for a new "safe" button... at very little cost. I'm still waiting to get my GG Grant (it was mailed on July 2nd) and I have already spent way more than I should have with extras... brass caps, batteries, chargers and 2 adapters. Now, after reading about the button's safety problem I'm so sad... and don't want to have to worry about an accident... even if I try to be careful about putting GG on/by metal :(

Will the GG transformer still come with the new paint? I really like the gold! As for my GGGrant, I am not concerned, I have a case :)

Tribal, no colour, small amount of people wanted:)

Sorry mixxy, the new button is for Trans. but as I wrote to another thread, what is this panic? Stay calm, its an issue like the issue that other cigs have in pockets. GG has this issue, it does not have it any more to the new model but the old ones dont mean they have a special problem.

A simple solution is not to put it in metal surfaces!!! So simple. And lets say that you put it. ok atty will burn like other cigs in pockets.

I said that with 12 euros I will put the 3 features button to all of you. I will wait 15 days and I will do it to all GGs that will come back to me.:):)

The making prossedure is:

If you go to a factory to ask for a change you will be charged 50 euros for a piece. If you go with 50 pieces you will be charged with 35 euros, with 100 pieces 25 euros etc.

Now you understand why Chris. if you send me 10 GGs, the cost of 12 euros I asked is only the shipping.

ps...... I have alredy said 2 times after the "5 euros" button that I will not charge it at all.

Wouldn't it be a good idea if Tim, having the overview of who has an older model (Grant, probably the small and sleek ones too?), sends these owners an email telling them to send in their older GG before such and such date (plus shipping-address where to)? It is sheer luck, looking on another forum alltogether, that I found a link to this thread... I hadn't even been able to find a mention of if and how this was going to be fixed, when I was on this forum, actually searching for it, before.... so how small will the chance be that all owners ever hear about this, or will read about it (in time!) if they don't get an email informing them?

Just some dry and precise facts... what to send, where to, before when, what will be the costs, how to pay these costs...
Hope someone can organize this :)
