Oh Crash, what a great idea but it is too late and I didn't think about it before I ruined the screw/bolt.

Imeo, what you say is what I believe happened at this point. But at this point, I have squeezed to tight with the pliers and the brass threads are broken on the end that goes into the shell. On the other end where the button is I also squeesed to hard and I believe that I have pressed the brass from the screw into the brass of the threads. In other words, this screw and bolt is useless.

Vinyl & Moog, at this point it is too late because the threads have been squashed. But I am holding the GGT in my hands now with the end (with the holes) facing me. In order to loosen it I have to turn it to the left. To tighten it I turn it to the right. I'm doing it between typing this. That has to be correct because that is what I am doing. Correct??

Suzie, Vinyl, and all, part of the reasons this has been so funny to me is that I am a very old 65 year old with copd. Can't get around very well. Here I am vaping away like a maniac and now trying to fix the thing. Of course I don't know what I'm doing but I try...... That's what was funny to me.

I hope everyone is ok, I didn't mean to upset everyone. I guess I am hyper and doing everything faster than I can do well. That is probably creating some confusion, sorry.

This would be a Warranty issue IF the issue is with poor manufacturing Quality control as you said above it was....are you going to send a less faulty switch out or Pay for Shipping Back so that the Button can be repaired?

Hi Ridewithme,

We're family and family doesn't sweat the small stuff. We will all do whatever is right when the time comes. But it is certainly nothing to worry about. But thanks for caring.

Actually, brass is soft and everyone knows that. It is pretty and that's why we all like it.

If threads are broke then the only solution (until I make another button for you), is to go to a craftman to get rid of the lock nut. Maybe some friend of yours can cut it with a small electric machine

Did you try to screw it again? If you do it then you will have no problem

Yes Imeo, I tried again but it won't budge. I truly ruined it. I always forget which way tightens or loosens. So I check the end cap and I used that as my example. However, Vinyl and Moog insist it is the other way around for the lock nut. They are so sure that they are right so I believe them.

At this time I have removed the button/lock completely. It is sitting on the other end of the desk. The GGT is in front of me, batteries are in place and both caps are screwed in. Atomizer and adapter is in place, the only thing missing is the switch/lock.

I have a real screwdriver here next to me. I don't want to put you in a compromising position............ I'll ask this way, if you had your GGT all together except for the switch/lock and you wouldn't have that for a while, but you wanted to use it on an interium basis. What would you do? Would you consider inserting a real screwdriver into the open hole and touching the brass stick that is attached to the end cap to turn it on and removing the real screwdriver when you wanted to turn it off?

I'm really wanting to use it now, if there is a better way to vape it now please share with me. I don't hold you responsible I'm just asking you as a friend what you would do if it were you.

Thanks, Rainy

Ok sweety, the GG works like you said. If you touch with a mettalic thing (spoon, knife, wire, screwdriver) the button's hole and the little brass axis inside the end cap, it will fire, no problem

you are right Imeo I think PM's for mechanical questions should only be left with you to know about and work out. I know that may sound rude but it will make Imeo's job a lot easier to quickly investigate and fix the problem.

you are no rude at all grimmer, you just agree with me. We will focus on problem without annoyances, thats what we all want?

I remove it Crash:D:D

Imeo,

Thank you so very much. I am again vaping with my GGT 6 volt. It is wonderful and I love it.:wub::wub:

Suzi,

At this point, it is easy for me to see how you have been 'testy' not having your 6 volts. Oh yes, I understand now better than ever. Just thought i'd let you know.

You might discuss with Imeo, the possibility of having a loaner on hand for these types of emergency situations, it would be very helpful.

Hi Grimmer,

It did occur to me at one point to pm Imeo only but it didn't really seem to be that big of a deal. Primarily I thought anyone could tell me how to vape without the button on a temporary basis.

Now that I am able to read this thread in a relaxed way it is amazing to see the type of thing that takes place even with very minor issues.

But all things considered it does seem to be a good idea to just handle certain issues with Imeo in private. That's a great idea and considerate.

Rainy :)
