So this is my GGTB Video review
I also have a first impressions review on the device review thread on ecf

so far when its good its very good but it does have its flaws
the button wasn't great when I got it but thats understandable as things happen and after a cleaning it got much better...much better

But its inability to use the Ultrafire 17670 batteries is an extreme disappointment to me and I believe the retailers should list this flaw, failure to do so is almost misadvertising the functions on this device.

i thought VK mentioned that the AW17670 was the recommended version to use in the GGTB? i know it's the only 17670 they carried. i agree it should be noted though, and hopefully COV will make notice of this and carry them too; there really isn't a better 17670 battery out there. glad you're getting the hang of it!

Well I use AW'S and to use UF are IMO down grading, just a thought

I use AW High Drains on my 14500 box mod...and for that they are great...they do last a long time and are rated more correctly for MAH

however the benefit at 17670 becomes less apparent as either a UF or an AW is going to last me all day without dropping below 3.4 volts under load (the point at which I replace them)

Hi Golden my friend and welcome to GG forum.

AW 17670 fit on GGTB. I never said that any 17670 battery fits. If you read the GG forum you will see that. Not all 17650 fits but AW does.:)

And because it doesnt fit all the 17650 that doesnt mean that device has a flaw, yes?

What I meant by that is that an AW 14500 on an lr atomizer seems to last me longer than a trustfire or ultrafire 14500 and maintain better performance for longer, however that becomes less important when for me either a 10 dollar aw or a 3 dollar uf in 17670 form, due to the higher mah size, gets me from starting point to charging point without dropping so low in power that I no longer use it.

Basically, It doesn't matter to me if a battery lasts 24 hours or 38 hours if I charge it every 12 hours anyway. But yes if your using 4 17670's a day I can see how it would make a difference to you :p

price difference is based on the quality control and consistency, plus the discharge rating of the AW cells is such that for vaping it functions as any IMR battery would, but gives longer runtimes and high quality protcetion circuits. while you get the "all day vape" out of your current setup, you are stressing the battery even more so than the AW's, which means a lot of things, but at the very least that both the performance and the cycle life will diminish faster, and you'll be looking for replacement cells a lot sooner than you would the protected AW17670. if you're going to base your power source on price alone, i think it will probably even out in the long run.

p.s. for every 18650 mod i've owned, there was an 18650 battery that wouldn't fit. the same is true for 17670s, 16340s, 14500s, etc. AW is also a chinese manufacturer by the way, just happens to give a lot more useful and accurate information about his products than other manufacturers do. nevertheless it's not the mod's fault when a battery that is supposed to be uniformly no larger than 17mm exceeds that at the top, in the middle, at the bottom, or just plain all around. bottom line, it'll be a good investment, and if you only grab two of them you'll always have one charged and one to use all throughout the day...for years! hope you really get things rocking with that GGTB when your AWs come in!

My UF 17670's fit my GGTB's perfectly . . . it's finding a charger to use them with that's been my problem.

Lesson learnt, stick to AW's in future. :)

AW's are the way to go, but fwiw i have several Ultrafire 17670's and they vary in length's from 65 to 69mm and although i havent measured the diameter's they seem to vary to a similar degree some are a very tight fit however they all fit both of my GGTB's (one older and one newer) although the larger diameter UF 17670 is a tight fit and can be a bugger to extract.

Exactly to the point. The tolerances on UF batteries IMHO are just not as tight as those of the AW's...and they're definitely not as tight as Imeo's tolerances for the GGTB. :)

I just won the GGTB that Rippspeed donated to the NVC auction. I don't have any batteries that work with it, so I guess I need the AW 17670s. This did not come with the adapter, or extender, or whatever you call it that allows you to use 14500s. Can I buy that extender somewhere, and will the 17670s work without it?

TIA
