Just finished this guy. Took two weeks of etching the brass and wirebrushing the body, degreasing, epoxy, veneer steaming and wet molding. The next week was 10 coats of my home made gunstock oil/varnish/spirits juice, each dry coat buffed with 0000 wool. Top coat is Johnson's Wax. The veneer is zebra ebony, the varnish mixture is what beretta uses in their fine shotguns. I've been perfecting this finish for 20 years. It dries rock hard

I didn't know you were a turner too! Super cool. I've got a couple of "chunks" of Amboyna burl kicking around... One day i'll get around to using it for something special.
