Nothing can be said TorQ except that YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!
This will be the best project ever:thumbs:
I came home last night from Hibbing MN and arrived to a welcomed surprise!

Just received all of the caps and buttons! Many thanks Imeo

DSpin, no caps were harmed in this photo!. I will re-buff once I fit them to the individual units.

The new caps are oversized in diameter and the brass tubes are slightly undersized so this will allow me to have a nice fit and transition between the wood and metal

Another wonderful surprise was that Imeo was good enough to use all brass springs and posts! Thanks Imeo!!

Even the buttons have brass contacts. The button itself is Stainless Steel so it matches beautifully with the caps but all the connection points are brass. The tubes themselves are brass for great conductivity as well

This is turning out to be a great group project. Blu, in her infinite kindness sent me some breathtaking Olivewood burl and some silver Birdseye maple which I had never seen before

These are just quick pictures, this is the silver Birdseye

And this is the Olivewood. The holes you see are natural separations in the burl and they will be filled of course, this is just the raw wood.

The fun now begins! I'll redo the list on my next post and will start running down in the order in which people signed up for. River and OB, from memory you two were the first. Many thanks for your support. You get first choice on the silver or the Olivewood extra's if you wish to change your mind on your initial choices. Just be sure to thank Blu since she's the one that sent me that wood. Blu, I'll work things out with you.

Imeo, you get whatever you want my friend

Lastly, thanks to Imeo's kindness, he sent me extra large diameter caps AT NO CHARGE for those of you that took the initial plunge with me and bought the first prototypes. As such, you will get extra caps for your original purchase, just remind me. Blu and River, I've got you covered.

All the best and God Bless

I liked so much the project that I couldnt charge Torq for this River!
One walnut crotch burl in satin and one amboyna burl in satin, and we'll see what's left of the olive ash :D.

And yeah, thank you Imeo for your part in this awesome project!!

+1 for process pics Torque :)

Ok, progress so far. I know they look a little rough, but trust me, I'm from Jersey...

River, your walnut and Amboyna are on the left, with the blue rubber bands. Blu, yours are in pink. You lucked out in that I was able to wrap the Olive short wise. It was a challenge because the grain went in that direction but there wasn't a lot of material sideways so that one is double wrapped. It has an under wrap of silver maple and an outer wrap of the Olive to bring the diameter to size.

The silver maple came out great. I was able to get "eyes" right in the outer wrap and it kept that silver color

OB, working on 3 for you to choose from. Striped Ebony, Walnut Burl and Amboyna. You can choose when their finished and polished.

OK folks, I went through the list and here's the summary so far;

2 - Rivernut - Walnut/Amboyna and 1 extra set of caps for his original Woodie
1 - Imeo - Light Wood - I'll pick something nice for you
2 - OB - I recommend Walnut and Amboyna - They're coming out really nice and I'm down to a couple pieces of each. You get first pick before I use those up for anyone else.
2 - Blu - Silver Birdseye Maple and Olive Ash Burl - Specific wood used as requested + 1 extra set of caps for original Woodie
1 - Mata - Amboyna - Special shipping to Italy - No worries
1 - Bruce BigBuyer - No wood specified - I'll give you some options
1 - Somopoppy - No wood specified - I'll give you some options
1 - Vinnyngo69 - Striped Ebony

So far, we have 11 on order + 1 for me leaves 8 still available!

So far, we've raised $275 for Ramp! that's awesome - I will match that from my profits so the kids will get $450 - God Bless

The progress goes as follows - Rivers and Blu's are glued up. Still need sanding and final top coat plus polish. I'll try to work on them tomorrow but can't promise because the epoxy is very slow cure. If not, next weekend for sure.
Tomorrow i will start glueing all the rest. I'll be out of town all this week so my goal is to have them dry while I'm gone.

Thanks for all the support!
