Hi Torque

A question. Would any of your burr options replicate the wood in my car?

Hi Somo, looks like a 750? BMW uses walnut in their interior. I have a 530 myself and the walnut matches my interior pretty well

I'll be posting some WIP's today, including a couple walnuts but they don't have finish on them yet so you can't see the burl.

This shows the color well. The upper photo is walnut used on Rivernut's unit. The water brings out the grain well and when the units are finished, this will be the color

Correct guess with the german lady.
The top walnut does look surprisingly similar. I like it. :)

I think I prefer the first Helga. Curves in all the right places.

Someone wrote a book about that back inthe 70's

That Helga was sold to buy my wife a new kitchen! She was a sweetie too
Total body off resto, GM black saphire, 2litre bored and stroked engine, 178hp net at the wheels, 1700lb racing clutch, dual 44mm Webber's, monza glasspac exhaust, hand ground and polished hemispherical heads, all on a car that weighed practically nothing

blubug1.jpg

I used to love driving Helga around on Saturday mornings, smoking my pipe and listening to Mozart or Bach, and sneak up on unsuspecting punk bastridges in hopped up Accords and Integras with nothing but ashcan exhausts and 100watt radios whilst listening to BS rap music which gives me heart palpitations and intestinal issues, anyway...
I would pull up next to them at lights and then blow their doors off. They could catch up to me and ask what i had "up front", i would tell them the engine was in the back, first of all, and then I would lie through my teeth and say it was stock

Don't mess with old chubby guys from Jersey

This is where we are so far. River, OB, Blu's and Fright's are well advanced. Today I'll wrap the rest. Freezing here today so to my wife's delight, I'll be in the kitchen and not in my workshop downstairs.

Blu's. blu, your wood choices were awesome. The nicer the wood, the more chances for slight imperfections and voids tough. That schmutz on the side of yours is to rectify that. Its a special wood filler that fills the voids. When I sand and seal, you'll have the best of both worlds

Rivernuts, Walnut and Amboyna

OB's, Walnut and Amboyna but I'll publish the Eucalyptus burl I do for Imeo's so you'll have time to change your mind

Fright's, this one is a dark Ebony with reddish swirls

And I'll be working on others today. This one will be wrapped in Eucalyptus which is a light wood. Imeo, this one is yours. Mata's is next

Yet to do is to handsand, then drill for the buttons, seal and then final polish
