hi,
i have been using the ggtb for around a year from new with 3 x aw17670 batteries in 24hr cycles.
occasionally i get firing problems and a general clean fixes this.
at the minute the cleaning is not completely curing the problem.
when pressing the button it will fire then drop off not completely but it is noticeable.
one thing ive never tried was something imeo had suggested some time back when i was using lr 901 attys.
he said to put a small piece of paper behind the black plastic collar that fits on the axis that is hit by the button.
the parts im talking about are 3.1 to 3.3 from here http://www.keepandshare.com/doc/308...h-caps-1-pdf-august-16-2011-7-28-pm-194k?dn=y
i didnt use this method as my problem had turned out to be the attys i was using.
but im wondering is part 3.3 touching 3.1 and will the paper stop this, this morning i have very slightly loosened parts 3.2/3.3 combined from part 3.1 and this does seem to have improved things.
do you think part 3.2 could be too tightly fitted too part 3.3 and causing 3.3 to touch 3.1.
i realise i may have confused anyone that will read this but hopefully someone will be able to decipher it.
my 3 batts are a year old but do still last all day and the the problem can be there on fresh or used batts.

currently im using the arry tank with lr510 boges.

thanks.

Two things I would check are is the bottom spring been put back the wrong way after cleaning?
Is the sleeving on your 17670s worn away at the top or bottom of the battery causing an intermittent short
Just a thought for you
thanks eyebrook,
if you mean the spring that touches the battery mine is the cone type so only goes one way and is about 3 months old.
the button spring was also changed at the time, when giving a full clean i dont always dismantle the button but i do remove it from the ggtb tube and clean the point where it touches the axis.
ive examined the batteries and they are as new in look.
the one thing i dont use is noalox, all i use to clean is alcohol then dry off, in the past i have used a touch of vaseline but stopped as i read somewhere not to use it.

I was having the same problem and I put a little piece of a business card in between the two pieces and I can tell a difference. On mine the 3.3 piece protrudes from the end of the plastic 3.2 piece, but I dont know if it reaches all the way to the bottom cap. Its hard to say if the piece of paper or unscrewing it a little bit fixes a short or just squeezes the battery a little more. Something else to try is lightly sanding the top of the battery spring

Hi raggy, I recently had the same sort of problem with my GGTS. New battery, fresh coil and juice but really wimpy performance. I stripped everything down and discovered it was a build up of dirt on the button pin/plunger. A quick clean and all was well again. Hope you get to the bottom of your problem.

thanks lee,
this afternoon i totally dismantled it and cleaned everything it was then just fine.
i picked it up 10 mins ago and it has gone all wimpy again.
im wondering if its the bottom end of the arry tank thats causing it.

thanks O.R.,
i tried a piece of card and although it improved as ive said above its gone wimpy again.
i sometimes lightly sand the bottom of the axis and i will do the spring after ive posted here.
im also going to swap back to my lil mama and see if that makes a difference.

i realise this sounds very stupid but if i loosen the top of the arry vacum draw some fluid up this does improve things for a short time so could the vacuum affect the arry connection or maybe im just disturbing the connection therefore making it work 100% again.
its sufferable the way it is but very aggravating.

thanks again.

You only put a piece of paper on the bottom of the bottom cap only if GGTB is working always, even with button unpressed. That means that axis is bigger than the apropriate and makes always contact with the cap. This was never a tip to make GGTB vape better. It was a trick to see if GGTB was shorted from a faulty axis. Noone until now had a faulty axis. So this "trick" is not a trick.

If you have not the vape you want, maybe you need to change your battery spring gaz:)

hi imeo,
you did tell about the paper test some time back on chrissies forum AAEC and it was just in case it was shorting the attys i was using at the time.
i will put on a new spring tomorrow but this spring has only been on about 3 months.
really i am now thinking maybe the arry connection or the batteries are failing, 3 AW batteries (used in rotation) from a genuine source should last a couple of years and the arry is weeks old.
the batteries last 7pm to 7am but whether or not they are putting out the right power i dont know and i dont know how to test them although i do have a meter for testing, i will have a look on youtube and find out how to use it.

thanks anyway i report back once ive learned how to use the meter to test things out.
