has anyone had any problems with the threads on these yet? i was looking at getting one from hoosiervapes and they have an option to "check and lube the threads" for an extra $3. it's making me worried to order from them cause it just seems like "for an extra fee we will send you a unit that can be assembled". even with the extra fee it's a great price for what the mod is, theres just some about it that makes me uncomfortable.

thanks for the input everyone, for some reason reading that option made wonder what's so wrong with the threads that you need need to check that they work. thanks everyone for putting me back at ease.
I wondered about that when I saw it too. I was involved with Karn's first co-op and mine was sent assembled. I never thought to ask him if he'd been shipped a bunch of pieces and assembled them himself (that seemed a rather silly question). As it had come packed as a single unit and not in pieces, it seemed pretty definite that the threads worked and over time, they worked in all configurations (even the ones that are silly and can't work). The one thing I did was to add some vaseline to the threads and screw them in and out a few times - then I removed the excess goop because the threads are really quite nice without lube. What this did, in theory, (my theory), was remove any extra machining particles that might be in the threads that could score the metal over time. It really wasn't necessary but it was my new baby and I wanted to protect it as much as possible (no matter how little it cost).
Meh ... at the price they are selling the Chi-Chi an extra $3 isn't all that much if you don't want to take the time to do it yourself.
I personally didn't choose the option but given how many they are selling ... I under stand why they are charging for that service. 2 minutes X 100 units is a decent amount of time to dedicate.
