My own personal choice would be that a wrap might help keep me from destroying the chrome finish. I do tend to "acid" affect finishes and I'm not happy about having my CCTS look crappy if I can help it. Apparently there are clear wraps that could alleviate the probable situation and I'd be happy to use them. I've seen a couple of wraps on the beast and they don't look too bad at all. As long as it works, don't be throwing stones where they're not needed. Just my :2c:

The title of the thread is "GGTS ChiChi Show and Tell", not give some personal criticism to some stranger you've never met cuz that's what A-holes on the internet can get away with. :2c:

The purpose of a forum is the exchange of ideas and opinions...so in a "show and tell" thread I would expect that people are allowed to post what they think about what is shown and told. I didn't give a criticism, I gave my personal opinion--hence the "just my two cents". I'm sorry you think that I'm an "......", but I'm saying what I have every right to say. I don't see the word "mod" next to your name so get off your soapbox.

I think if you were looking for a way to improve the look you should go to a metal shop and have then take the mod to the lathe and take off the knurling and have some parts of it annodized

Then you need to choose your words more carefully if you don't want to be attacked. Saying things like 'you should' would indicate that you think he is doing it wrong. Which, no one cares what you think HE is doing wrong (in a thread of show off your device so we can get ideas). We welcome your opinion on what YOU would do. We tend to get hasty to defend another person when you try to bash what someone else did for their own preferences. We get you don't like wraps on a mech mod. You did a good job of pointing that out. However, you made it seem as though his way was wrong.

Yes, I'm arguing semantics, because in writing, it's hard to show emotion or sarcasm so meanings often get taken out of context.

Edit: Not to defend the guy who was calling you an ...... either, rather the premise of his statement.

Ur right. This is y I started this thread. Anyone can give there opinion in here if they want to if u don't like carbon fiber wraps on mechanical mod u can say it. That is wut the interweds/forums are for....to talk about stuff. This is a free for all thread for the CCTS. And no one should fear to share there opinion here. Just say "Nice story bro." And now on.

For anyone that doesn't know this. Sanding the finish off the end of the button and the pole with the spring will give you better contact and a better vape. I was just reading this on the CCTS/K100 co-op thread and thought I would share. I plan to do this to mine tomorrow.

I've wondered if that would work. Let me know how it works out.

Well I might have taken off too much. Now it's worse. I am having intermittent trouble. Sometimes I am only getting partial connection. I measured the out put with a multimeter and I get like 2.7 volts when I press it down and sometimes the full 3.8 volts my battery is at........ this sucks........

It's not to difficult to look down the tube to evaluate what is going on. Remove top, remove battery, assess.
You need to look for total movement, contact area and center Pin straightness.
Also remember when you press the fire pin in power is conducted through the pin to the outer switch housing then to the actual tube. ALL Areas of the path that are connections must remain suspect until eliminated.

Well I ground all the way around on the neg post that has the spring that touches the bottom of the battery and when I am firing it and unscrew it some it makes better contact and I can feel the button move a little. So I am positive it is what I did that cause the problem. I think I through the whole thing off balance. I tried unscrewing the nut/contact that touches the post with the spring for the battery a little to see if it would make better contact and that didn't help. So the back side of the firing button that your finger presses makes contact with the knurled safety piece right? I hope this makes sense. I should probably just take pictures to make it easier.

I didn't think the chrome coating would come off that easily. I used a stone wheel on a dremel but just lightly touched it. I attached some photos of the post and the bit I used. And now it seems to be working fine.

Honestly, using the stone was a bad idea. Takes way to much material off to fast.
First, check your Center post and make sure it is not wiggling. (possible heat damage) It sits in an Isolating material to keep it from being a dead short.
Second, hold the switch inner contact cap and un-thread the firing pin a few turns. This will temporarily lengthen the pin and should give better contact.
Third, start looking for a replacement switch and bottom cap assembly.(good luck)

I was thinking something like that. Or get some copper trace tape and wrap it around the post. Right now I used some emery sandpaper to smooth out the post and unscrewed the contact on the end firing button and used green loctite as that is all I have on hand. I checked with the DMM and am getting the full voltage. Now I am letting it set to dry and will see what happens.
