Hi all,

I just received my GGTS from COV. Its an amazing piece...truly the Ferrari of e cigs.

Now on to my concern....

There is a slight play between the bottom tube (the one that holds the button) and the middle thinner telescoping section. It seems to thread ok between the two pieces, but if i put regular force (like pressing the button with my ring finger and my thumb being on the thinner telescoping section; applying opposite pressure) i can feel (and see) that it moves slightly. Keep in mind that i have tightened down the entire thing pretty snugly.

Thinking that it was because the threads of the middle section are not the same length as the bottom part. I tried threading the middle section only to the beginning to see if it still moved.....and it does.

So the big question is.....is this normal? I am afraid that with use, this "play" between the two pieces will get worse as the metal wears down.

Also, my Panasonic NCR18650A Protected 3.7v 3100mAh batteries do not fit on the GGTS. They are too wide. What is the biggest 18650 battery i can fit in the GGTS?

Thanks

Vapor - The 18650, the numbers them selves are measurements, it is 18mm in diameter, 65mm in length, and the last "0" means it is round.

I would make sure you have all the sections snugged down and you should not notice the play, any thing that is screwed together like this is bound to have some play.

Hope this helps

I'm stumped because the are all 18mm diameter so technically they should all fit but you have some that do not.

I looked further down the page and what I can tell you is all the AW IMR's will fit for sure and are a very highly regarded battery. I personally use the AW IMR 18650 2000 MAH, the AW IMR 18490 1100 MAH and the AW IMR 18350(stealth mode).

The larger, non IMR AW's might fit and they go up to 2600 mah but I haven't tried so I can't say for sure.

Technically anything with an 18mm diameter or smaller should fit.

Dont laugh but unscrewing the extenders the button ended up flying off. I saw the nuts were tightly screwed but the button on top of the spring that can get tighten with the hex screw. What I did was remove bottom cap and use pliers to hod it in place while I tighten the button on it. Now that sucker wont fly off.

I put o-rings over the telescope to eliminate the wobble. It also gives me a slightly better grip.

As for battery sizes GGTS is made to take 18xxx series batteries. If you happen to have any aw 18650 I would test fit them. If they don't fit I would say you may have a slight maching flaw. I would contact COV at that point.

I say to try aw's because most on the forum feel they are the most to spec batteries around. I can say my GGTS has taken every 18650 I have ever thrown at it. I've had protected Trustfires and Ultrafires. Protected and IMR AW's and I currently use Panasonic CGR 18650's . My first Panasonic was a tight fit because it was a Callies Kustoms and the sticker they put on it made it fit tightly in the telescope.
