Ok ladies, I'm seriously considering trying a mod. Caught between being a cheepie (making a box mod, dosn't look impossible) or making the hubs grumpy and buying a chuck. I love the Cartomisers, and my KR8- so I know I'll never ditch them compleatly. What, if any mods have you tried? Which ones are the best most beloved in your personal opinions and why?

I'm kinda girlie at this point in my life. I AM attracted to pretty things (thus the desire for a chuck- I can get it sparklie!) and that will have some pull on my final decision, but practicality and long life is more important.

I can't tell you about a Chuck..sparkly is pretty though. I just don't like the bulk of even the small one having seen it at a meet. But with an adapter you can use cartos or a cart with it. Just remember that the bigger batts will use a carto up faster.

I have a nicostick (AA batt), reliable and cheap..great vapor! Also adaptable to a carto. No reason thay can't be painted first, and some people add decals to them)

I also have a VP1..not recomended due to the AAA type battery. 2 hours tops. If you get that type make sure it's a VP2..AA batt.

I have a mini pipe..love it, but again crappy batts.(14250, can't find replacements in the states) Mine is a manual but not sealed, so it runs the risk of flooding. so I use my cartos with it.

If I were you I would get some adapters..a 808 to 901 and a 901 to 901 That will insure you get to use your cartos with most mods.

Vaprlife sells the 808 to 901 adapters also others. There are a few people on the board with adapters too.

Get some blank cartos. Then you will be able to refill with favorite liquid.
England is getting ready for a battle like ours with their version of the FDA.
I don't know what Germany's rules are..so unless you are flying spaceA and not commercial, you need to find out.

After almost 10 months of vaping..I have to say that the VK is my favorite device. I have had one batt die due to sticking and 1 carto with out threads..but none have died from use. I have been using the VK since Sept.

Don't forget you will need different plugs!

momof3: I saw those, not the types of pink and puprle that work for me lol- the black looks quite nice. Regardless of what I end up getting it's going to have to go past the hubs.No nails, I paint, touch type, and crochet and they get in the way so I keep 'em super duper short
Bing a crafty type person I am tempted to toy with a box mod, or a screwdriver (etc) mod. However think I'll still end up with a BB, SB, chuck or juice box just 'cause they're so cool.

PS also had a diamond design Prodege that was quite nice looking. BB equivalent. I think they sold out though. The SS is nice looking as well IMO. A laser mod on an attractive chain is cheaply made or purchased ($8-$35) and can be convenient. Battery life isn't much to crow about but they are really cheap and while not as long lasting, more consistent than many stock batts I've tried. Was the inspiration for the VP1 MaryKay mentioned I think.

I'm partial to my PS PD V1 and haven't considered newer mods though, so there may be others to consider.

I bought my nicostick from people in the supplier section. The first one lasted a good long time and I still have my second one. I have the makings for one..but I am scared to try it..lol! But I did want to paint the box red..with the spray on plastic bond paint. The 14500 protected battery lasts me at least 7 hours.
The VP1 may have been based on the laser mods but it is well made and has a pretty ring of lights. My only problem with it was the short batt life. I wish I had ordered the VP2.
The only drawback to the Chuck I can see is living overseas and having any repairs made.

I'd like to try the BB but it's so darn expensive! $99 darn. Maybe when my disability checks start rolling in will I buy it. But right now I'll have to stick with my 510 and crappy atomizers. I think I bought bad atomizers. They never get red hot. I get very little vapor out of them.

Do you have manual batteries or automatic? Try longer draws maybe. You could also try dripping and tailpiping to see if the problem lies with your carts/filler.

@ MaryKay Yep the battery life sucks for an all day vaper on the laser mods, but I only used mine for football games. Then it was handy and definitely better than trying to take in my Prodigy. Everyone thinks it's a pen. Also being around my neck I didn't have to worry about it accidentally firing in my pocket. I also didn't have to shuffle out of the stadium at half time with the rest of the smokers. I gave it to my Gma when she wore out her button. I think she changes batts 8-10 times a day. Personally I would go nuts with that, but I may get another to have on hand at fair time. At least by next football season.

Dunlap, maybe you would like to look into cartomizers for your 510. They make adapters for that purpose. With cartomizers you can refill and so far in 6 months none of my atomizers have died on me. One did come in with no threads! LOL I got tried of buying batts and atomizers for my 901.

I have the VP2 and love it and my sister in law loves hers. For at home I use the VP PT and it gives 5v plugged into an outlet. I also have an Adaptever and I love that too, both at 3.7 and 6v, though I think 6v makes a lot of juices taste a little burnt. I really think 5v is the sweet spot. I'm planning to get The Joker when it comes out in the Spring since I've had good luck with the VP2 and VP PT and I want a non passthrough mod that works at 5v. Plus spring is just in time for my birthday so I can ask for something I totally don't need, but really really want, without feeling guilty :). Next I have to come up with a reason to get a Chuck, they're just so pretty.
