Prodigy V3.1 by puresmoker.com - all mechanical and can take a beating. Nice battery life. Battery lasts me all day plus some.

Something a little smaller? Icon by puresmoker.com - all mechanical and can take a beating just like it's big brother the Prodigy. Battery life is shorter than the Prodigy but still lasts half a day (I vape heavily 6-7ml a day).

The Buzz by notcigs.com- a freight train could run one of these over and it would survive. Not all mechanical but still very durable. Variable voltage also.

Megalodon by electronicstix.com - all mechanical and durable. Can be broken down to a tiny size to fit one single cr123a battery for stealth vaping (hides in my girlie hands). It will also accommodate just about any battery you put in it. You can also stack batteries for 6V vaping.

This. EXACTLY.
I have a Buzz and 2 Prodigy V3's. The Buzz is tough. The V3 is impossible to break. Unless you crack the threads or tube, there is nothing to break.

If you are around coolant, VV may be a problem. The circuit will short if it gets wet.

The saber touch switch would concern me a bit. Coolant and metal shavings (especially ductile iron) may cause problems. Also, I do not believe it can be activated while wearing gloves.

I work for a mining OEM and travel I jungles and deserts depending on whether its iron or copper or gold.

I wanted something that was indestructible, mechanical, no switches and that could be repaired with a pocket knife and a papercl

I got an alpha from altsmokes. Nice people, quick ship, 100 bucks and I'll never worry about a thing.

I have a dusty/dirty/greasy job, and went with the Roughstack before I got my REO. If I dropped either of them I'd worry more about the damage to the floor than breaking the mod.

What I love about the Roughstack is that it doesn't show fingerprints, and it's just a cylinder so it's easy to keep clean. Gunk doesn't get trapped anywhere because there's no decoration, and the button is on top. At $45 it's tough to beat.

I'm a REO girl now though because I just love the juice feeding on it. I just grab my REO and go...no more bottles. I made a vinyl cover for it so that's pretty easy to clean too.

I just got my mini REO, and I also have two coppers and two Saber Touches. I do a lot of gardening in the summer, and I wanted something reliable that I could bring outside, and not worry about getting mud and dirt all over it. I tried a GLV supermini, because I liked the idea of having it around my neck on the lanyard. That was a fail, it got all tangled with my headphone wires. I have a P10, but it's way too nice to get garden gunk on it. Then I picked up a Leo kit with Leo cartomizers. I fill it up and throw it into the garden caddy with my trowels, pruning shears, etc, and I can use it with gardening gloves on, the cartomizer keeps out dust and dirt, and holds a ton of liquid. The Leo was my solution to vaping while doing yardwork, and since I've been using it, it has performed pretty well.

anyone got images of the internals of the manual buttons after a few weeks or months of use? the sparkplug corroded in my workplace quickly, im thinking anything i get will have to have a rubberized cap over a manual button so dust is not an issue. id love to see what they look like, i hear that the alpha is a pile and breaks under minor loads, i know of more then a few people with jackinthebox looking alphas. vv is out of the question inless its like the sparkplug and uses longer / shorter tubes and these aluminum threads are bothering me because they arent at all reliable under situations where i dont want to fiddle while changing batterys with cleaning the dust out of the rings untill i clock out, consider this also, i break down my mod every day and sanitize it after working to remove any bacteria from the machines i setup. so anything with a circut that cant be submerged is automaticly fail.

also if you have any idea what harborage is id rather not have a "vein" or textured finish, id rather not be placing some of the bacteria i work with into my mouth, my carto always has a condom on it untill i need a break.
and cleaning is but a wipe away.

dust won't be an issue with the copper or saber touch. The saber touch is sealed shut so even immersed in water won't damage it (but it would damage the batteries.) The copper would not be affected by anything either because it is so simple. You put the batteries in and press down on the top for the connection. I recommend both of these as I have owned both and they are extremely durable

sounds like you want a REO Grand,6ml juice bottle,18650 battery=all day vape(for most peeps),all mechanical too.
The first day with my grand,I accidently dropped it in a container of used motor oil
The battery and atomiser went in the trash,REO got washed out with acetone, works like new
The black is a powdercoat(I think),the other colors are anodized, not many places for bacteria to hide

I'm liking the Alpha!!!

Alpha has issues with the switch design. Also, the ceramic can not take a hit without breaking. My first one broke in the mail, before it was even delivered. Warrantied one I sold after a month of trying to get used to the sliding switch that would not work consistently. At least 15 of them have been sold in the last month, nows the time to pick one up cheep if you really want one, haha.

I started vaping with an ego being a machine operator as my day job the ego quickly wore out from hard use, i switched up to a sparkplug but i find the button a bit to fiddly sometimes and find myself cleaning it alot. anyways to make a long story short i need a reliable mod that has a sturdy manual button no switches that has to be easy to clean and or dust proof in its connections after the atty / carto. suggestions?

I'll second the Omega PV suggestion with the Silvervein finish that doesn't tarnish or show wear. Folks at Altsmoke are great. I loved 6v dripping then found the LR dual-coil cartomizers and went to 3.7v. You can vape at either level with an Omega by using different batteries.

GreatLakesVapor's GLV2 mods feel great in the hand and I don't feel like I'm sucking on a screwdriver. The button doesn't fire by itself in pockets or purses. That can happen with an Omega. The GLV2s are solid PVs. You can see/feel the quality. Jay and Sara are the best. Incredible service. Bad news is you wait when you order. Lots of GLV fans out there. It was worth it for me. Good luck!

I have roughstack and love it (after minor mods); it is pretty tough and very repairable.

I'll have to say the copper looks tougher to me.

I have a Sparkplug, and know what you mean about the switch.

I don't think you'll have an issue with dust in either the REO or the Roughstack- especially the REO. With the REO if you get dust in the switch it just falls out the bottom and you wipe it out of the juice compartment. Maybe every few months you might have to do a little more maintenance than that, but it's so simple on the inside that I don't think it would be an issue for most folks.

The way the Roughstack is built you'd have to pull the switch out to clean it, but that doesn't look like it's too tough of a job either (I've never tried it though).

Both the REO and the Roughstack sit nicely on a workbench if you need or want them to.

I don't know about the other mods people are suggesting- I don't have any of them, but they all look nice.

just thought i would come in and add my 2 cents worth, recently returned from my trip overseas, took a roughstak with me and quickly broke the switch. Thankfully myself and some of the mechanics from the motor pool were able to rig a new switch onto it to last me untill i received an omega (that i love with all my soul) and thats how my wife got a slighly used roughstack...lol

Another vote for the REO.

All mechanical, aircraft-grade aluminum and nothing else to carry with you.

It's a self-contained unit with the juice--3ml for the mini and 6ml for the Grand, on board. If you get a tube mod, you are either going to have to make sure your carto is full before you go to work, take pre-filled cartos with you to work, or take the time to fill a carto at work--unless, of course, you have time to drip all day. You wanted tough, so tanks are out. Drop a tube mod with a tank and you'll crack the tube or break it off at the connector--or both.

With the REO, you fill the bottle...and you're done. The REO gives you the option to use a carto--Boge 2.0 work well on them for a very hassle-free vape, or use atties. You'll get an exceptional vape with the HH357 or to a slightly lesser extent the iO6. The mini is great if you want something that is really convenient to carry, but if you're looking at the tube mods listed here--and some have a well-deserved, loyal following--get the Grand. With a full juice bottle and a fresh 18650, you'll have enough power to work a double and still vape on the way home, and you'll have to do nothing but push the button and occasionally squeeze the bottle.
