BTW - on either the 510 or the KR808D-1, you can use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece on cartomizers.

Not a great picture

Riva 510 75mah w/o the cone (and normally I use a black cartomizer on it)

Joye 510 180mah (the standard short-charge size) w/ Boge 510 cartomizer

KR808D-1 280mah (standard aka 78mm size)

PCC that first the standard size 510 but I am storing my KR808D-1 cartomizers in the too (Vapor4Life ones are colors). The Mega xl 510 uses a plain metal PCC, less roomy, the shape of a box of 120 slims. KR808D-1 only has flat pack PCCs.

Note - a Joye 510 mega xl would be a 8mm longer than the kR808D-1 standard. Joye 510 and KR808D-1 are the same diameter 9.2mm but dark colors make them look slimmer.

Vapor4Life model is like the original manufacturer but in fun colors, manuals have larger button, mostly sealed threaded end, and a long safety cutoff so you can take long drags

My favorite thing about V4L (other than all their sales!) is the way I can get a battery to match practically anything. I got a couple of green XLs to match an emerald dress and my bikini.

I highly recommend manuals - much much better sealed against being damaged or killed by juice leaks, easier to get a good hit, less work, won't turn on accidentally in wind or vibration

However, you cannot hold a manual between 2 scissored fingers and vape it of that is what you care about.

I totally agree. The 510 autos work better than the 808 autos, but manuals are best in either case. However, on V4L XL manuals in particular, I have mastered the technique (it's sort of a roll) for holding the manual between scissored fingers and activating the button. I can do that with an 808 and make it look natural but the buttons are in the wrong place on a 510mega.

My only objection to stock V4L 808s is visible vapor production. They do okay with the WOW carts but I find third party cartos are better. Unfortunately, unlike the V4L carts that come in a bunch of matching colors, the third party ones are almost universally black or clear.

You can use the SmokelessImage and Bloogplanet and Halocigs G6 cartos too. People seem to like the SI and Bloogplanet blanks and flavors. Not sure if Halocigs uses the same blanks.

I use the V4L WOW cartos with a blend of V4L WOW juice or 80PG/20VG or 90PG/10VG juices. I won't use any higher than 20% VG in cartos - I can feel the drag suffer if I do. Most of my batteries for KR808D-1 are V4L manuals and I have one original manufacturer manual (gold button) and one SmokelessImage Volt manual (I do not think it would be possible to push a Volt manual button with the side of your finger - tiny, hard press, and recessed). I use the standard size in all aka 78mm or about 120mm with carto attached, longer with the drip tip.

Some V4L flavors are overdone and many have quite a bit of TH on the KR8 batteries which are real 3.7v minis. I like the WOWbacco (cocoa tobacco, mostly cocoa to me, and WOWboy is the same w/ a bit of mint added). And WOW Vanilla is their vanilla I like - quite sweet and marshmallow/cottoncandy-ish and I blend that with vanillarum 80PG/20VG or 90PG/10VG from Gourmet Vapor. Both WOWbacco and WOW Vanilla have quite a sharp edged hit with nicotine - I would actually recommend trying those one nicotine level lower than your usual.

(note - if you buy anything at Gourmet vapor they may take weeks to ship - they just finished a 50% off sale and a Vapor con)

And main reason to get manuals - cartos occasionally leak, especially since we add juice to get 4-7days use out of one carto And when a carto leaks, it leaks right over where an auto battery can be damaged. Also Autos are more work. Manuals make it easier to get a good hit and you can drag however you want. You can press the button in 1-2 seconds early so vapor is already made when you start dragging. And they won't turn on accidentally from wind or vibration, wasting charge.

I started with smokestik and would also not recommend as it's pricier than needs to be and yes 4081 is not supported. I did however get some pink and silver 4081s at AquaVapor for a better price. The problem is the cartomizers are just not that good and hard to refill. I am primarily on Go-Go now and for functionality I love it. I just ordered a pink one here Home | Go-goUSA.com . But the fatter battery isn't too girly I admit. I like the looks of the thinner ones at Vapor 4 Life I just can't make another $ investment right now. HTH :)

I have lots of girlie batteries! Purples, reds, pinks, blues...some with blingy crystal tips on them instead of the gray plastic.

Vapor4Life has lots of pretty batteries, as does Smokeless Image. Highly recommend the raspberry color at Smokeless Image, and the Vapor4Life Diamond battery in ruby red!!

OOh, like that Rasberry Long Volt, how are they threaded? Couldn't find a word about that on their site.

All the Volts are KR808d-1. So if you already have 808's, your chargers will work with the Volt, as well as your cartos.

I have the raspberry in the manual version, but I also have a purple Volt in automatic and I like the auto battery too. And the purple is really pretty as well.

You all are sure giving me a lot to look at and ponder. BrittanyNI knows pretty much what I'm looking for in the visuals and purpose department. Something sexy/classy...can match with clothing and or my moods LOL. I'm sure I will have a stock pile of many different types of pvs over the coming months. But this one..this one needs to be special.

I greatly appreciate all the time and effort you all have put into this thread and will seriously put thought into this next purchase. I hope one day that I will be able to pass on the information that was given to me. Thanks and keep the ideas coming!!

Yes Dormouse, I did smoke. My last analog was the morning of the 7th. I used a restaurant as an example and after your comment, realized that was probably not a great one to use. I was thinking more on the lines of like a casino. I work in one where there is no smoking but we do have a few people from time to time that use a pv. So far, we have had no problems with this. I also work in a sister casino from time to time when I'm needed that is a smoking casino and I like the thought of being able to go there to play and have my pretty pv with me. I personally won't be vaping in a non adult only enviroment when out in public.

If you are not artistic, and want to girlie up your battery, get a pretty color and take it your local nail salon for an airbrush/handpaint job. They even have gems. You could match your nails to your battery! LOL The young gal that does my nails did one of my white ego batts and it looked beautiful. It's dead and gone now but I'm about to buy another white one and take in down there. They charged me 7.00 bucks, your milage may vary...

Re restaurants - some people see that stupid EZSmoke commercial on TV and think they can vape in a restaurant and then backtalk the waiter who asks them to stop, like the commercial shows - it tells people they can use an e-cigarette anywhere, even where smoking isn't allowed. (which would be nice, but just not true)

For whoever asked above - the Volts are KR808D-1 threaded, as is Vapor4Life.

And yeah that Raspberry color is what made me buy one Volt battery to add to my KR8's, and then after it arrived the color made me spend over $12 buying 2 raspberry juices (Raspberry Vanilla and Raspberry Bubblegum) and a raspberry flavoring at DIYFlavorShack.

Now I've heard it all....matching your juice flavor to the color of your battery. Way to coordinate! That confirms it, there is a wide-open mostly untapped market out there for girlie vaping products. The Mall kiosk has decorated batts that they are selling for 35 bucks, mostly 510 egos but a few reg and XL 510s. That is where I got the idea to let my nail salon decorate my white batt. Now I'm wondering what flavor to use with my black batt, blackberry?? I love it.

No - the color and name of the color just made me think about raspberries and want raspberry juices (which I still didn't have a good one of). I love raspberries in real life. But many raspberry juices are more candy raspberry flavor. So I search for raspberry eliquid reviews to see what people liked and a couple of people were raving about DIYFlavorSHack's raspberry so I bought some.

Ah that explains it, but nothing wrong with doing some coordinating. I match my juice to the type of PV I'm using, but there have been times when I thought about using different color batts for different juices so I could tell what the heck was in them without trying them out. I bought some small round Avery stick-ons to solve that problem. I like to switch out flavors during the day so I have 5 batts with filled up cartos laying around at all times. I found a nice combo, Vanilla Swirl with fruit of choice. Tastes great mixed together and if the fruit is organic you'll be less likely to get that overly sweet candy flavor cough syryp stuff.

weeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!...now I'm just getting spoiled!!....I love it and everyone here!! Still thinking on the 510 or egoT..but this is way cool too!! perfect for my work enviroment!~does a lil happy dance~

If you get an ego batt, forget the tank system, go to MadVapes and pick up some of those ego mega dual coil cartos, vaping nirvana. They are endorsed by hundreds of ECF members. Easy to fill, holds a ton of juice, perfect flavor and vapor and they last forever. I'm still using some that I bought first of July. But they are ugly black, so I use at home mostly.
