OK so I am wanting a good quality smoke. I have been a smoker for some time and i have tried a few e-cigs. Nexgen, Blu, and the latest is a off brand named Tsunami x1000 tank. Local available is limited so that is why. I am ready to pay the price and get off these smokes. But this stuff I am reading is confusing. I haven't been impressed with any of them. I am wanting a long life battery i like the liquid in a tank idea, but i need it to replace my smokes. I would like good throat hit with max vapor possible. Flavor isn't a big deal as long as the nico is enough to keep me from spending 5-7 dollars a pack for real smokes. that i am currently smoking 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day.

Ego twist batteries are the best option for getting into VV. They go from 3.2-4.8 volts, and it is an analog dial on the bottom of the battery, so it really gives you the ability to fine tune your vape.

The way VV works: basically the higher the voltage, the more vapor you are going to get. The only thing limiting the amount of voltage you can push is whether the vapor is too warm for you, or you get to a level that actually scorches that flavor and makes it taste burned. The voltage you run can also be affected by what the resistance level of your carto or atomizer is. For instance, a high ohm carto will need to be run at a higher voltage for the same effect that you could get from a lower ohm carto at a lower voltage. Many of these things are very affected by personal taste, so finding where you are comfortable is something that just takes some trial and error.

This is why VV is the way to go. Everyone is different and likes their vapor different also. With a VV you have the control to fine tune your experience.

Hey there! I've actually got some Tsunami 1000x tanks batteries. They're misnamed, but I know the ones that I have are a 650 mah ego battery style. Mine actually are a decent backup and are dirt cheap. I do, however, recommend going with an Ego C Twist. The battery life is longer, and the variable voltage really makes a difference.

Good luck!

All fine choices. I like the Kanger T3s too. VV does give you more options on the quality of the vape (from weak to throat searing). I have the twist, and it's OK, but in retrospect, I probably would have gotten the spinner, since I understand the settings are easier to see. (I actually prefer the feel of the KGO, but you only have one setting for that, unless you get the VV version.)
One thing you should understand is that for some of us, vaping is NOT as impressive to some of us. A lot of people manage to quit immediately, but I (for example) smoked and vaped at the same time for 6 months before finally dropping cigarettes. Rest assured, though, if you want to quit, vaping will make it easier.
I started out with 18mg with some 24mg for in the mornings, if that helps any. Welcome to ECF! :)

I transitioned from the Blu ecigs to an Joyetech ego-c twist/clearomizer set-up. That made a huge difference in the whole e-cig experience. Shortly after that, I ordered a provari, which is on its way.

My suggestion, if you think that you will be committed to vaping, get the best stuff that you can afford and be done with it. The monies ( aside from other considerations ) that I had spent on the cancer sticks justify my current purchases.

All the hardware suggestions are good thus far. The thing to keep in mind is that real savings begin after you find a liquid that suits you and you learn to refill your own tank/atty/carto. I'd suggest 24-36mg to start. If it's too much and makes you feel dizzy or "buzzed" reduce your nic level. I'm content with 20mg, but I've been vaping for 2years.

The eGo Twist VV is the most cost effective starter that allows variance of heat without having to find a specific resistance to accommodate the fixed-voltage batteries in order to produce the desired heat/vapor/TH.

See the "Forum Suppliers'" stores and shop around for the atty/carto/tank that you feel will suit you best. When you find something that draws your attention, look for a review of that product on Youtube. Everything is introduced as the next best thing. A lot fall short of that claim. Other things are tried and true. It took me about a week of homework before I bought my first kit. It was not totally satisfying, but I continued in my construction of a vapers arsenal. Now, I have 1 juice, 1 atty and 1 mods for all-day, everyday.

Congrats on your pursuit of a healthier alternative! Vape on!

This is only day 4 for me on vaping. A few years ago I got one of the cheap "cig style" e-cigs from the mall, and I knew within a day that I couldnt replace smoking with it. After I ran out of carts, I never bothered using it again. Now that I have gotten a provari, flavored juices, and a clearo tank, I cant believe I didnt jump on board sooner. The VV is so nice, cause I can actually get it to hit the way I want. I figured I would have been smoking a few cigs here and there, but ever since I tried this I havent wanted a cig so I am just going with the flow...

Cig free 3 full days now...

Welcome and congrats on the decision. Each item has it's own opinion.....what yours will be is to be seen!!! I was a PAD smoker for 35 years and I haven't picked one up since I received my Ego C kit in the mail. I had no outwardly intention to quit.....it's that amazing. Over 3 weeks later I cannot see going back. The lingo IS very confusing especially when you don't have something in your hands to understand.....don't worry....you will ......eventually......months and months and months.. Some vets on here suggest Vision Spinners,,...I didn't listen. It is basically the same battery as the Ego Twist except cheaper and easier to read. have them now....after buying the 1000 mah Egos.....which I was totally satisfied with. Now I use them as my backup. Take a leap of faith...get any basic kit Ego C, Ego T and you will fly......the tank system gets no love on here, but is very easy, reliable, and you can change or improve to your liking. Copper Creek's House Blend is a slice of heaven. I got the kit, then the wife was like a remorrah on it, then my son ordered a kit.....now we have a Vape line on our phone, that's the greeting when you call...:D According to my wife, who smoked when she was 15, "It is a miracle" Is it easier to just light up? Yep....more convenient? Yep.....So you can have easier, convenient, and slowly die from smoking all in one. Come along my friend, come along. $100 is what you risk in the short term.......save alot more in the long run and I am not just talking about money!!;)

It looks like the Twist/Spinner recommendations are spot on- variable voltage options are now cheap and ubiquitous, and that kind of flexibility and control is good to have.

I want to stress, though, that the juice you get, and the nicotine content, is really important. The rough estimations I've seen put a regular ol' cigarette at 24mg. I STRONGLY urge you not to even think about getting a juice beneath that. If you do what I did, and try to cut down your nic intake drastically and right-away, you're going to be cranky and disappointed in vaping because it's not satisfying your cravings.

Also, what Kopfstimmen said: You may have to supplement your vaping with smoking at first. THIS IS OKAY. Every cigarette you DON'T smoke is a victory.

Adelwolf is correct in that you need a juice that is strong enough to hit the cravings.
I would add that you also need to vape before the cravings start...
First thing in the morning vape, anytime you would have taken a smoke break-vape...like after a meal or driving to work.

You are training your brain that if you allow it to receive the nic through Vaping instead of smoking- and you will not deprive it of the nic it needs...your brain will not wig out on you that it needs a ciggy. Vape before you need it. Vape longer than you smoked a ciggy.

Also...drink lots and lots of water...the PG/VG drys you out, and the extra water flushes the ciggy toxins out of your system...another cause of withdrawal symptoms you won't experience if you drink plenty !

If you crave a ciggy...vape, then vape again. If you still want that cig...go ahead and have it, it's ok.
Might be you need a stronger ejuice, or you waited too long before you vaped first.
That's why I said you need to vape before you 'know' you need to vape....nip it in the bud !

Glad you joined us here...
Best to You !
