Hi Vapoor Eyes,
thanks, so i will go on in here.
Hello nice Forum-Members,
I read along with the DID-Thread for a couple of weeks to get comfortable with the DID after i ordered it. I got it last week and struggle with it since then. Im sure i did the oxidization of the mesh pretty well, but it gives me less vape. i tried it on all devices i have without success, always less vape, but my other Atomizers working well on these Devices. I did a 4/3 coil and after that a 3/2 coil but no difference at all, less vape. The conclusion came to me that there is maybe a contact problem somewhere in the DID because there is sometimes no vape at all and sometimes it works a bit, at least. Im just helpless now after trying this or that for a couple of days to get it working. Maybe someone can give me a hint what to do. sorry for my english, hope i could describe my Problem comprehensible.

Hello Peter and welcome. I am also researching DiD. I think you may either have a shorted coil , too fine stainless steel mesh for the viscosity of your liquid or the airhole on the top cap is not aligned in front of wick.

Also your communication is easily comprehensible.
Good Luck.

The airhole is in the right position i figured out, also i assume that i have no hotspots because the colour of the coil is even after a few tanks of less vapor. I will take some pics tomorrow and follow the advice of vapoor eyes and open a new post.

What wire and mesh are you using, and what method of doing the coil and wick are you following? There is actually a method that doesn't require oxidizing the wick, some of the guys in another thread have been playing around with it for a couple days now and are really surprised with how well it is working. Google the Peter K method and you should find it.

Hey Peter, welcome to ECF. First, shorts/ hot spots would give you a terrible burnt/ harsh vape so it doesnt sound like that is an issue. As NancyR stated it would be helpful to know what type and gauge of wire you are using for the coil and have you checked the ohms on it. Also what type of device are you using, 3.7 volts or variable? If you have a high res coil and vape it at 3.7 the results would be dissapointing. Also with the DID, and Genesis style atomizers in general, the angle you hold your PV at can make a big difference, hold it horizontal or there abouts for the best wicking and vape. Also if the wick is flooded it will give you very little vape. If this is your first genesis, there is a steep learning curve but once you get to know the device it is very much worth it. Best of luck!

+100 on this, there is a learning curve, but I know the iHy has given me the best vape I have had. It has also made me cut my nic level back. I have had it less than a month and went from 24 mg to 6 mg.

Thanks for the nice Welcome Greetings :)
What happend today:
in the morning i tried to fire the DID again but nothing, nada. As it looked like a contact Problem to me, i lifted the wick to prevent it to have contact to the bottom of the Tank. No result. After that i did loosen the nuts from plus-pole, suddenly it started to fire again. Think i will dissassemble the whole DID tomorrow to have a closer look at the plastic(delrin?) inlays in the top- and bottom plate of the Tank.

greetings Peter

Edit says: i use the mesh that comes with the DID on a Cube Hex.
