Hello!! As the title suggests, I'm not exactly new to this electronic cigarettes thing but I'm giving it a second chance. Been a smoker since I was 15 so its been about 23 years since I've been smoking real cigarettes. Back around 2008 I tried a brand that was decent...but honestly, didn't fulfill as much as a real cigarette. I think it was "Smoking Everywhere". Anyway, the atomizer crapped out on me...so I kinda gave it up. Anyway, a recent trip to the doctor kinda scared me, so I decided to try electronic cigarettes again. Done a little research and it appears relatively safe..much safer than real cigs lol. Anyway, I went with Blucigs since I see advertisements everywhere. Again I wasn't too impressed...the battery is pretty small and again, I didn't get the same satisfaction I do with real smokes. So as a pseudo noobie, what is a good brand out there? I really want to eventually kick real cigs...but my searches produces so many different brands...I don't want to waste money on crap. Thanks again!!

Don't give up! It took me three tries, and almost two years before I converted for good with e-cigs. The first I tried was Smoking Everywhere...like you, and it SUCKED big time! So I understand where you are coming from.

I recommend you get an eGo with the 1100mah batteries, or something similar. Battery will last you all day, and you will be surprised to how much better it really is to what you have tried so far.

Good luck!

Wow!! you guys are awesome...and very helpful!! alot of experienced people here, guess that's why I chose this forum :)!! It looks like the overall consensus is a Volt. I googled it and got a site down due to maintenance...uh oh! I appreciate the suggestions on mods, but afraid I'm clueless on that. i just want something nice and easy. Blu was like that for me....the atomizer and flavor cart was all in one unit and i liked that convenience. It was unfortunate the customer service wasn't up to par, and to be frank....it was such a small unit. I understand an ecig may never fully replicate a real cigarette...how long did it take for you guys to quit completely? With Blu, i still found myself smoking real cigs and used the ecig in places where I couldn't smoke (business meetings :toast:) until the battery died on me.

I seriously started back in Oct. 14, 2011. Before that I had tried it in March of 2011. I started out with a 510 model that looks like a cig because I thought that would be best for me but boy was I wrong. The battery life was only 2-3 hours and I kept having to fill the cartridges, etc. Always seems to be fussing with it. I had seen joyetech ego-t model and at that time knew that would be lots better. Life happened and I got off track. In October I ordered the ego-t and loved it. Loved it even more when I got a passthrough. In the last 3 weeks I have smoked one cig each Sat. and one on Christmas day. At first I smoked the one in the a.m. to get me going and then the rest of the day used the PV. I have been a pad smoker for the last 30+ years and this has been remarkable for me.

Good luck on finding a set up that suit you because once you do I don't think you will ever look back.

By the way, I am now loving the ego-c because of the replacement attys and it's lot more economical and I can still use most of my ego-t batteries. Just pitch the atty when it wears out. AWESOME!

I started on ecigs about a year & half ago. I saw a cheap kit at a convienence store & tried it. I bought a battery with a couple cartos & a five pack of cartos for $35. I used it to cut down a little on analogs. I went back to the store & they no longer carried them.

My next try was a year ago. I bought an NJoy kit & extra cartos, because I wanted not to smoke for my mother's funeral & I figured I could sneak some hits in the bathroom. I vaped them until I ran out of cartos. I didn't even think about vaping until August of this year. I saw the Smoking Everywhere Kiosk & thought maybe there are better E-Cigs out there. That's when I found ECF. I read & read & read, I decided on Riva 510. While waiting for my Riva to arrive, I dug out the NJoy & bought a box of cartos. I vaped the NJoy until the Riva came. After it came, I quit smoking about 3 days later. I haven't smoked an analog since. I had smoked 45 + years! Zero for 4 months.

The point is, there are great PV's out there. When you find a good unit, it's easy to quit analogs. You need to get one you like & is reliable. Then it could become a hobby & you could end up buying bigger & better PV's. Also buy sample sizes of eliquid to try to find a flavor you like. Start with tobacco (or menthol) to get off the analogs, then you can branch out.
