I really must be doing everything wrong, not having these problems and able to put my device in my pocket and not needing to carry anything else with me. So what sort of non reo set up do I have to get? I want to make it hard for myself so that I can see the point of one.

*sighs* You just don't get it

I didn't have any of "those problems" with my other gear either. I own quite a few mechanical's (tubes), MVP, dna 30, etc. A ton of kayfun's (still love my KF's) and I really never had bad experiences with them, sure I had a hiccup or two along the way but it was always operator error and was fixed rather quickly. My thing is... I like drippers BUT hate dripping. It's a huge PITA to me. I kept hearing all the great things about the Reo's and I thought I'd give it a try. I'm glad I did!! I didn't think I could get better flavor and performance than I did from my 30w device and a KFL+ - Boy was I wrong!! The Reo ROCKS - simple as that.

If you can't afford a Reo or just don't want one that's cool - someone else will gladly snatch it up :)

Wanted to add.... I was completely content with my DNA 30 and kayfuns. I had no desire to purchase another regulated device or tube mod. I was no where near maxing out the 30w device because I vape it at 15- 18 watts... plenty of room to spare there. I also knew I wouldn't get any better performance out of a tube mod... My Electric Angel, Nzonic and AR work flawlessly. And for all 4 of my Kayfun's.... well.... Kayfun's are awesome, I'd recommend one any day of the week.

I wanted something that was mechanical, no electronics, something that wouldn't fail as long as I maintained it, unless I did something wrong and something that was "proven".

The Reo Grand has proven to be the "best" vape that I have ever tried. That's all I need to know.

The real point is that the reo is a simple, consistent machine with low maintenance. I'm just surprised at how many threads exist with people truly struggling with other equipment. I had very little problem running any of my other gear and I know a lot of folks love what they got and little trouble running theirs as well.

I just found that I liked the performance of dripping without the issues of carrying extra coil heads, bunch of juice etc. And the thing just plain works everytime.

My trip to Reoville has been interesting.....I quit smoking a little over 5 years ago. Went from 2 packs daily to cold turkey. Fast Forward to about 6 months ago. 2 kids under the age of 2, new high stress job, 4 years of hard earned sobriety and I almost caved and picked up the analogs again. Luckily my brother-in-law was a die hard vaper. He let me try his Hana Modz/Tobh setup and I was hooked. Since then I have had most of the popular devices--Nemesis, IPV, Box Mods, too many RDAs to count, Kayfun and Fogger. I liked them all but found myself wanting more. I decided to give a Reo Grand a whirl and it was a game changer for me. It's simplicity, convenience and bombproof design was everything I was looking for. Now my main problem is acquiring different CatfishHeads atomizers and more Reos! YMMV

I think with Aspires BVC coils and the new sub-ohm coils/tanks coming out we will start seeing less and less of the painful "why can't I just get a decent vape" stories. There is always going to be issues with specific products and people complaining, but part of the reason people get so desperate is that there really hasn't been a decent vape without a lot of trial and error learning what works best for the individual person.

The reason why most Reonauts are so enthusiastic is because we've been though a lot of what we see people going through and when we finally broke down and bought a Reo, we figure out how wonderful and relatively easy it is to get a great vape with a Reo. This makes people want to tell other people about it.

I compare it to the whole quitting smoking by vaping phenomenon itself. When smokers or just people I meet ask me about vaping, I'm probably TOO enthusiastic, but for me it has been a life-changer. After trying and failing to quit smoking multiple times over the last 20 years and dealing with my cigarette habit expanding and my health deteriorating, the fact that vaping allowed me to stop smoking within the first couple of days and has kept me cigarette free for almost a year is amazing. The fact that I'm starting to feel like I'm going to live past 50 and actually see my grand kids get to be adults is not much short of a miracle in my eyes. I'm not an evangelist who tells every smoker I meet that they JUST HAVE TO try vaping as a way of quitting, but when someone tells me about how they have tried and failed I'm ready to just hand them everything they need to get started and I know many vapers and most Reonauts are the same.

Will it work for everyone, no. Just like Reos/bottom feeders are not for everyone, but when you see someone struggling i think for good people find it's hard NOT to suggest something that has worked for them.

Oh and just like any group, there is always a few zealots that get fanatical and uncompromising that THEIR way is the right and only way to think. I don't think Reonauts are any worse than car people and are almost always better than sports fans (fanatics).

Just my $0.02

Ken

Couldn't have said it any better even about the enthusiasm about quitting I tell anyone who will listen and probably some who couldn't give a flip. As far as the other point I started with a Lavatube 2.5 and Aspire tanks w/bvc's then onto a mech and wasn't as satisfied with either of them as much as I am with my Reo. And for what I paid for the LT I could have started with a Reo and actually saved money to get a better vape. So once I was an owner of one I will tell anyone who asks for a recommendation on a mod about them, to try and possibly save them from making a costly mistake like I did. But always remind them that it is what works for me and while it does great in that respect it may not be for them. I treat it much the same way as recommending NT, I love their juice but realize each person has their own taste and just want to help them get to "vape nirvana" like I have whether it is with what I recommend or not.

Personally, I don't think the REO is perfect. However, it hits perfectly almost every time, and is incredibly easy to use/maintain. I came back to vaping two months ago, and did not enjoy the maintenance issues with the Kayfun DNA 30 combo. I could have made changes to my routine to make it more enjoyable, but decided to check out the REO first. Now I enjoy the small amount of maintenance the REO Cyclone combo need.

In addition, looking over the design I think it would be very difficult to "fix" my minor complaints. Will I consider buying other maker's mods? Possibly, but they will have to be a bottom feeder. Will I buy more REO? Even with my complaints I plan on buying my wife two and myself one more at the minimum. Over time I could see owning up to 8-10 a piece depending on our likes of the model types.

I find it sad to hear about some people that just don't get the whole vaping thing in general. I get a lot of comments on my grands when I am out and about and they are all over the map. The one comment I get and I really think it rings true in the vaping world is that a REO looks nothing like an analog and most can't see themselves actually vaping and enjoying it together. Most are put off by the looks. They want to replace an analog with something that looks like it and find them selves very disappointed when the reality sets in about what there is to offer in such...

I had the same issue when I started vaping almost 4yrs ago. It had to resemble an analog. The problem with that was a cig-a-like never came anywhere close to an analog and I even thought on several occasions of going back to them. Thankfully I didn't. Once I realized that vaping wasn't about the look and all about what satisfied my cravings, it was game on from there. I have been down almost every faddish road of vaping and it wasn't until I finally purchased my first REO for my 3yr anniversary that I got the whole concept... It wasn't perfect though as I went with the mini 2.1 to start and it fell short of what I felt I needed. Traded that for a grand and it was game on from that point. 18650 on board with 6ml of liquid. I was set for an all day vape. No muss, no fuss, just an enjoyable vape.

Looking back on my experience, a lot of money could've been saved, (not to mention all the mental frustration), had I just been more open minded and listened instead of thinking of what I thought I wanted!! As I said, once I got past what it looked like it was game on and I can say without a doubt that today I have what I consider, the end all vaping device in a REO Grand......... Now if I could only decide on the end all atomizer to go on top I could save a little bit more money!!!

Finding the video this morning and listening again to all of you, I have posted a wanted ad, let's see if I can find anything in my price range!

I saw your ad in the wanted section and think the price you are wanting to pay is a little unrealistic.. You can find a mini 2.1 or sometimes a grand for in the neighborhood of say $120. That would be realistic. Then you could get an atty from Rob or even Catfish Atty Mods to top it for around $50 and you would be all set. I will say that of all devices, the REO has the best resale value in the classies of any device out there and as pointed out previously, they have a tendency to sell out in minutes, sometimes...

Just looked over at the REO site and Rob has some blems up for sale... Check it out... http://www.reosmods.com/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=30&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=3

So glad you touched on the atty end of things. I read somewhere on here about a guy that mods atty's if you send them in. I just can't find/remember where. Any idea if he can mod them all or only certain kinds?

My ad says around $100, I thought 120 was within the "around" but I guess not?

I found a hell of a deal the other day. I picked up an LP Reo Grand with a green door and a white door an Rm4 and an Origen, 6 empty bottles, two with feed tubes and caps, an extra spring.... and I think that is it. I paid $180.

I did 170 for a Grand, Rm2, bottles and some extra stuff. The Grand is barely used and I thought I got a great bargain!
