Hi all, usually get the other arf to do this but he seems to be dragging his feet lol

I like the tank destroying flavours and messing with refilling cartos is sometimes a little awkward, I wondered if you could give me any advice on glass tanks to make my vaping experience more seamless??? Are they the right way forward or am i stuck with refilling carto's?

Almost all of my vaping is done on cartotanks. They are all volatile e-juice safe, being either polypropylene or pyrex glass (stay away from the clear plastic polycarbonate).

You don't mention in your post what device(s) that you use, which would have been a help in recommending which tanks for you.

The Smoktech DCT tanks (version 2 with the frosted polypropylene tubes) are about the cheapest beginning at around $12 a piece. I have gotten mine from My Vapor Store and Dragonfly Vapors. They are available in a uncolored frosted, and several frosted colors. Metal endcaps. 3.5ml size is slim, the 6ml size is wider; both are the same height (length) and take either a single or dual coil XL cartomizer.

If you go for a pyrex tank, OCD at IBTanked.com makes a high quality and inexpensive tank. Two sizes available, taking either a regular standard size carto or XL version taking an XL carto. The glass tubes are either clear, or can be ordered in any number of artsy paints especially for pyrex glass. Three colors of stainless steel endcaps or several colors of acrylic endcaps are available. You can get one of these as cheap as $25. They are slimmer than the usual cartotank and only hold about 2ml of juice.

For a larger pyrex tank, Valley View Vapes makes the Triple V tanks. These are about an inch in diameter. The 4ml size takes a standard size carto, and the 7ml size takes an XL size. They come with a silicone grommet; they can be used in this setup but filling them requires using a blunt needle between the grommet and cartomizer which can be a pain. The vendor is now offering aluminum endcaps, which I highly recommend, so that these tanks can be filled like other cartotanks. Glass choices include clear or frosted, and also a side screw juice fill hole.

Phiniac makes some of the best pyrex tanks available. They can be ordered naked (clear, amber, green, blue, and black glass), textured, sandblasted designs (some with color), and hand-blown designs. Available in a shorty, regular, and XL size; they are all the same diameter, differing only in tube height. Size determines what carto can be used, or vice versa.

Whatever carto tank you end up getting, I highly recommend that you also purchase the Slap-yo-moma tank accessory tool available at Big Daddy Vapors. This will protect your tank investment by saving the tank's o-ring in the endcaps from taking abuse from the sharp edges of a cartomizer's top. It will also greatly decrease the time it takes to fill your tank with juice. There are other tank tools available and for cheaper cost, but trust me this is the best designed tool on the market and worth the extra few dollars. Slap Yo' Mama Adapter : Big Daddy Vapor

Good luck with your tank purchase. Cartotanks are the best vaping experience I've had yet. :vapor:

Thanks for the info Baditude and taking the time to educate me on the different systems and availabilty. I started with a Riva 510 Boge L/R, S/R carts DCT (could be smoktech?)and now use a Provari mini love the vv and how it changes the flavours but still get burnt taste if too high. I have to confess although i have been doing this a while (last analogue may 2012), i have left the whole finding info out to the other half, as we both quit analogues on a whim of an internet purchase starter kit which we ditched quite quickly and moved on but it had the desired effect so nice one on my part! So i apologise for my ignorance with the practicalities.

Not glass.... but the Vivi Nova is pretty good. Many good reviews and you can get it for under $20.
It is also a CE2 style device rather than a cartomizer. Some love them, some hate it.. watch some youtube reviews on it.

Another option would be a genesis style rebuildable atomizer as stated in an earlier post.
You can find these in glass/pyrex style, but you will be paying more for it upfront.

What I did was bought ...
Ego ce5 1.8mil tank (about $5each) - for on the go
Vivi Nova 3.5mil tank (about $15each) - for at home

A nice thing with these 2....is they have replaceable atomizers and are compatibale.
I bought 10 replacement heads and can use them on both devices.

They are both extremely easy to clean, repair, and add juice.
Takes me about 5 minutes tops to empty, clean, fill.

Saving for a Cobra Rebuildable.... mmm I want it!

BTW - Ditched the basic starter kit, still use the Riva
