GMO, I am more than willing to be a tester for your watermelon just wish we were closer to each other. (sigh).. I could never take that heat, growing up in the mountains we never had an air conditioner since a heat wave was in the 80's, and we were miserable then let me tell you lol.
I miss that weather, I really really do, sure 0 is a bit cold, but with the right gear that is not too bad either.

I have a question to pose to my friends here on ECF. It concerns the juice I make and sell. As a new business, I've received lots of feedback but I recently received an email asking about a burned rubber taste in my juice. I know that none of my juice comes in contact with anything other than glass or LDPE plastic, which we know is impervious to all the "tank busters".

I'd appreciate some feedback from you guys, publicly or privately, about the situation because I AM concerned! Here is part of the email I received:

Hello,

I received my order Wednesday the 8th. The juice has been sitting steeping since. Today I decided to fill a carto to try the strawberry ice cream. It was terrible. A very strong overpowering plastic/rubber taste. Thought maybe it was my carto throwing the strange taste. Tried it in one of my drippers, same taste. I moved onto the amazing strawberry as that juice had several great reviews. I got the same strong plastic/rubber taste. No hint of strawberry as described by the reviews. Proceeded to go through all the juices, all but the pear tree and the banana banyan had the same awful taste. I am assuming that the cinnamon and the banana in these two liquids are covering up the taste the others are presenting so strong. Im not sure what could have happened. I never had tasted anything like this before in any other liquids. Not sure if it is a isolated issue or what. Im curtain something has gone wrong somehow. Just cant imagine how. Between the reviews on your site and a couple people recommending flavors on ECF, I know this is not what these are supposed to taste like. If you think replacements will be better, I would be willing to go that route.

I've purchased 5 different flavors of your juice, including the strawberry ice cream mentioned here, and have had no issue with any odd flavor in any of them. I have also repurchased several flavors with no issues. I can't imagine why this person is having a problem considering your manufacturing process wouldn't cause it. I'm thinking it must be an equipment issue on the buyer's end.

I've only had an overpowering rubber/plastic taste from one juice from one vendor. It was an "all natural" pina colada. I decided it was from the rubber cap around the glass dropper, I could smell it. I bought some empty glass bottles with rubber caps and glass droppers that had the same smell, need less to say I don't use them for anything vape related.

I haven't had any plastic/rubber or other bad taste from your e-liquid, GMO. I wouldn't say it's impossible for it to happen once, but not in multiple flavors. I also received a few bottles around the 8th, they're fine. Maybe it's vaper's tongue? A burnt carto or wick leaves a bad taste in my mouth that won't leave for hours. I got nuthin'.

BLUF- Your juice is fine, could have been many factors.


GMO, I am an well I can not say it here as I typically say, but a very pointed person. The Brother Banyan is not my thing, there is something tart in there that I just do not like. I know lots of people rave about another juice vendor, I will not name them here, but it just had a chemical taste to me. I wound up selling it with lots of other juice that I did not like, the recipient loved it. Tastes are subjective, you are not going to be able to please all of the people all of the time.
Also as Schnarph said vapors tongue gets us all at one time or another. I have ran your juice though carto's, tanks, dripped on 510 attys, although I will never ever again get one of those lol, RDA's and they are wonderful and flavorful. I have only had two of your juices that I did not like, and they were both juices I had high hopes of liking.
Now the Rwhy4 I thought I would hate, well it is now one of my favorite juices, as it ages it just seems to get better too.
They might have decantered the juice into another bottle, or another thing is did they use a syringe to transfer the juice? That rubber can wear out in time and create a flavor as well.
To be honest I would not loose much sleep over it I know I have sent at least a few people your way from some forums, one I know for sure has placed an order. She had a reaction to a 100% PG juice, I have been there done that with ulcers in my mouth, doing PG and cinnamon most likely did not help but I like that sometimes and might have to whip some VG with serious heat up soon.
I have had a ton of stress on me lately, and hate to admit I have had a few smokes here and there. Nothing like before but sometimes after I vape a bottle of 18mg sky in 8 hours and find myself still fitting, I need a smoke.

On retrospect, have you changed your flavor vendors? Not sure when this person got the juice, but I noticed mine shipped, I will sample and see what I get. I noticed they said carto, a dry carto will ruin my day unless I scrub my tongue and do a salt water gargle.

I would say it was a bad carto that left a bad taste. I might see a problem with one batch but not several. Flavor is subjective but if this is the only personal saying this, with the amount of juice you sold, it must be something on their end. Maybe replace the bottles that are bad, but first test a drop from the new bottles you send out to them just to double check before they get it to make sure the quality is up to your standard.

Mmmm Watermelon, I have several vendors, and although it is good, I know you most likely could do better. Question did you try my menthol mint? Remember how I told you to jack the flavor up some after the first one, ya I like most flavors to slap my face hard.

On the email I received, it truly does bother me because I work very hard to put out the best product that I can... as a matter of personal pride and wanting to be the best at what do best.. designing and making juice.

Thinking about the rubber aspect... the only way and part of any of my juices could come into contact with rubber is if it happened at my nicotine manufacturer or my flavoring manufacturers. All my liquids are stored in glass or in LDPE plastic. Everything.

When I use syringes, I leave a cushion of air between the rubber plunger and the liquid itself. I feel I can make a more accurate measurement looking at the meniscus of the fluid rather than using the bottom of the rubber plunger. Maybe the plunger rubs against the plastic of the syringe? I doubt that. I discard syringes after a use or two, anyway.

Questions to ponder!

Sorry to repeat myself, but I have received a bad, rubbery, plastic tasting e-liquid from a (different) vendor. However, when this happened I was far from the only one making the same complaint... right out in the open on ECF. If you get any other similar "complaints", there may be some cause for alarm. I don't see how multiple flavors could give the same bad taste issue without there being something wrong on the customers end, most likely the atty, or possibly an accidental jump in voltage on the mod. Again, a burnt/dry carto can ruin the taste buds for hours, making judgement calls on other flavors pointless. If these particular bottles were sent back to you, this issue could be resolved without a doubt. It's a waste of time to make guesses but that's my

On a brighter note (what isn't), I've come around to Banyan Brother. At first I didn't care for it at all. It wasn't the atty, I tried a few different methods over a period of days. I don't know what happened, but I kinda like it now. It's not my ADV by any means, but it's a fantastic palette cleanser and kills the vaper's tongue quick. In a way, it's similar to Gin Gin Candy which I do like quite a bit. I've been vaping a lot of RY4 (DIY), PB-banana-chocolate (DIY), English Toffee with a hint of PB & chocolate, and of course, Banyan Tree. Sometimes I need something to really wake up the taste buds, and since I don't like menthol/mint flavors, Banyan Brother and Gin Gin Candy get me going... in a good way. JMO, YMMV.
