#5 Is it number 5? Yes, 5. Quote-a-thon!
#3 Alrighty so I know we do not talk about certain things here as this is GMO's place. But can I ask a question or maybe some opinions on what is a decent rda that is a little better than the igo-l? I really would like something that the bottom screws onto the dripping part if that makes sense. The igo-l just sort of pushes together. It comes apart too easy for me. If this question is innopropiate a mod can delete it or maybe you can pm me. I only ask cuz I trust the opinions of everyone here. TIA TIA Mwah...............
I can't really suggest any of the screw on cap RDA's, I don't care for them personally. I believe the Phoenix (V1) screws on, but it's a tiny dripper with a tiny air hole. I think GMO has one. There's a new clone of the Fatty V3 that has a screw on cap, the older one's might as well.

If it helps, there's a trick to getting caps and drip tips to fit better that may help you. Use some thread or dental floss wrapped under the o-ring, 2 or more wraps as needed. AFAIK I have every size o-ring a vaper could want, but this really helps with those drip-tips that won't fit no matter which o-ring is used.

Best food ever Boardop :)

Anyone know what size o rings the phoenix v4 takes? Mine are showing signs of wear and tear...
I had one but gave it away, I can't even remember who has it now. Those are pretty small if I remember correctly, and I don't think any standard parts kits are available. Your best bet is...

4: If you have a Harbor Freight/Lowes/Home Depot you can find trays with o rings of all sizes for like $4, would probably work.
This. I have standard (US) and metric silicone o-ring boxes from HF that cover most of the odd sizes, other than the one's specific for certain atty's that have parts kits. They do smell like machine oil and rubber, I wash mine in warm water & dish soap for a while first. YMMV

Thanks Tiggerts :) you reminded me I have an assortment box on the shelf above my head. Guess I should look there 1st :)

Edit: looks like it might be a 7/16. But mine is too thick
When this happens to me I try the next size down, sometimes the next one smaller works. Good luck!

I am kinda perplexed. there are two wick holes. if i build a single vert coil, should be right over the hole? how do i cover the 2nd hole?
i feel dumb, i watched the vid, but dont remember anything about plugging the 2nd hole.
if i make the coil horizontal, i could roll cotton to run from near the bottom of the tank, up thru the hole, thru the coil and back thru the other hole, although this side could be cut right below the deck.
is this a good plan of action?
It's usually best to leave one hole open. When using SS mesh, most folks will fill the wick hole completely, others roll a hollow wick to allow for pressure equalization. Juice can't come up the wick without air going into the tank to replace the space. When using other wicks like cotton, you might not fill the hole completely. I don't have a Kraken, but most RBA's have screws to fill the unused holes. Regardless, just because there's a hole doesn't mean it needs to be filled. If you want, make a horizontal coil and run cotton down both holes. Keep in mind that genesis RBA's can't be set down on their side like clearos and RTA's. If it didn't leak when upside down, it wouldn't wick. This is the main benefit of clearos and RTA's, they use vacuum/air pressure to feed the wick.

Edit:
follow up dumb question. on the center post, under the screw are two washers, should i be wrapping around the screw between these washers?
Yes. That's sounds very similar to my AC9 and RSST center posts.

A) You do not need SS rope. Folks have been using mesh alone for much longer, although even that isn't necessary. If you have some cotton ball, I suggest you give this a try : Genesis Atomizer Auto Dripping Mode Using A Micro Coil - YouTube (note: I don't care for that guy much but some of his tutorials are decent) You'll have to tilt every couple of drags, but chances are you'll like the flavor better and it's much easier to do than rolling and oxidizing mesh.

B) RBA, RTA, RDA: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/new-members-forum/466428-what-difference-between-rda-rba.html and http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ystems/487409-difference-between-rba-rda.html Basically, all rebuildables are RBA's, RBA means rebuildable atomizer. At some point (probably marketing reasons), tankless dripping atomizers became known as RDA's and genesis/tank atomizers kept the term RBA. It took a little while before the term RTA (Rebuildable Tank Atomizer) caught on, the Ithaka had been around but with all the others somebody coined the term and it stuck. You can rebuild a Protank/Evod head but I still think they are clearomizers. JMO, I could be wrong. :2c:

5: The A video is great, thanks. I used to watch him, but like you I don't care for him much either, we got into it.

stellar, thank you for the info!!!
i built a 5-6 wrap 29g MC around a RDA screwdriver. mounted horizontally, with a rolled thin cotton ball wick running thru the coil and down both airholes. (i hadnt yet read your post about leaving one open)
it is working AMAZINGLY!!
i think that the cotton is thin enough in both holes to allow air to pass yet juice is not escaping.
i just held it upside down for a few min after lying down for a few and no leaks!!
i see in the future this being a tricky accomplishment.

huge clouds, great flavor thanks to the cotton, and easy air control.

the kraken is 22mm, and fits perfectly flush on my Nem.

im already a fanboy...

the cons, so far (small issues):
no extra screw to plug 2nd hole if desired.
the screw heads have poor phillips notches, and after one build i came close to striping them! (ill have to use a different screwdriver from here on out)
no extra parts (came with screwdriver, & single piece of mesh, silica and wire) no extra o-rings/screws
no drip tip
there is what i assume is a fill screw, that requires a wide(ish) hex screw (not included) and i cannot use (i dont own a fitting hex key...) making this hole useless.......

also, the AFC is fantastic, 2 or 1 holes, that taper smaller with an easy twist!

I wish I had a good RTA, however with taking care of Wifey and work I don't have the time to play with my Trident RDA that I would like. I like the ease of use of my carto tanks, they give good, but not great flavor, way bigger clouds than when I smoked. Their just too easy and have kept me from smoking so I'm good. For now!

I had a package that said delivered , I called the post office branch that my mail is delivered from the same day, and the next day, they couldn't tell me where it was but the next day it showed up after I had my regular delivery. I think it was in his bag and forgot to put it in my box.

That happened to me once out of the North Canton PO. Said they tried to delivery it, left a notice. So I asked the receptionist. She said she hasn't left the desk, and the mailman never came in and there was no noticed. So I called and griped. They said they had no record of any package for me. The next day... It just appeared. So weird.

been messing around with DIY juice and VG is the bane of my existence.

Why so? I love me some VG!

Glad you like the cotton wick, LD. SS mesh is great for longevity but takes getting used to and gives me a metalic taste. YMMV.

I pour my non-nic VG, the Vg nic concentrate isn't so bad with the largest gauge needle. This is easier when you pour the regular VG last, filling the bottle... or filling to the point that completes the recipe. Graduated bottle markers are nice. :)

for $12 and a month+ of waiting, this things a real winner!

That's it, going to have to try it now.

Okay, didn't get the micro part down right, couldn't get the wire to sit close enough together and hit 4.0 ohms. But the concept is easy and should be fixable in the future. I am liking it so far.

4ohms? what are you building on?

it took me a bit, but the way i get the coils to touch, as i wrap around drill bit or screw, i make the next wrap on top of the other, forcing it to make full contact, pulling tight, i do this for 1 or 2 more wraps than i need, then unwrap 1 or 2 from the weaker side (usually the side i was holding while wrapping with the other hand)

i'd like to try with mesh eventually, when i have some time at home (i do almost all my builds in my cubicle at work...)

other than rolling, and oxidizing, and oxidizing and oxidizing, it doesnt seem too complicated. but prepping just a wick for 10 min is not something i have yet to desire. :)

It has been a while since I bought it but I think it is called the Griffin. It is the coils not touching making the issue. I will work on it and try your method instead of the video suggestion.
