A few things might be wrong with JP's rig, this is without knowing the year/make/model and mileage so it's just guessing..#1 could be he just needed tans fluid, without enough the trans won't shift..#2 when the trans controller sees a problem it thinks could cause potential damage to the trans it will shut off the relay that powers the shift solenoid pack..#3 shift linkage broke or came undone,#4 The transmission oil pump quit building pressure needed to engage the clutch packs in the transmission which is pretty much the number 1 problem.#5 I would check the color and smell of the fluid,if it ain't red/pink,which indicates AOK as far as nothing is burnt up and the level. If it's smells burnt, yellow or brown.not good.#6 could be torque converter also. What ever the case, there should be codes that will help in finding the problem.Easiest to eliminate is checking fluid level and color/smell.

Thanks to everyone wondering if I made it ! Yes I made it to work only half an hour late. Sat for a while and it started working , still slips but got me here. I have a appointment to get it fixed Monday , I just hope it works till then. Estimated repair cost is $300, better than a new tranny but not in the budget. Thanks everyone again.

Ding its a 08 liberty. I think its the trans-controler.

#2. Oh no. Not good. How'd you do that? Hopefully the pain will go away soon. I hate being in pain. Takes the little energy I have away.

I somehow managed to knot EVERY single muscle in my left leg, making walking IMPOSSIBLE!! On a scale of 1 to 10, this is a 13... literally the highest level of pain I've ever experienced!!

I'm going to make all the posts after Midnight a second contest...same rules ...same prizes. I will close the first part of the contest as soon as I can get back to the computer!

Thanks, Tree Peeps!!!!

glad it's not a new or have to be rebuilt rebuilt.Too bad you can't do the work yourself. Those controllers are about 50-60 bucks. If you knew how you could reset the controller by unplugging it to reset the puter.Slippage is another problem though, belt tightening most likely. Also If I remember correctly, there was a recall on them,2008,don't remember when.

Thanks Ding , I'll check out the recall, might save me some $ !

@ Glasmanoak, bananas are good for that like GMG said. They have potassium, low potassium levels can cause cramps. Wifey has to take potassium pills to help hers!

Yep, bananas are a good source of potassium, but this is precisely why I suggested the supplements. I would have to eat a bushel of bananas to help the leg cramps when I get them. The other thing to consider is that the low potassium is usually caused by dehydration--so it's important to stay hydrated (a real problem for me since coffee and Diet Coke are 99% of my fluid intake--and they're both dehydrating).
