I hope everyone has had a nice Saturday.
Several days ago I decided that I was going to try to watch all the Oscar nominated movies before the awards (I don't know why I care because I never watch the Oscars anyway). I'm not gonna make it. . . I watched Gravity this morning, and I've been trying to get through America Hustle today (but I'm finding it to be really dull). I liked Gravity, but I'm not really sure why it's considered one of the "best" of the year. I watched The Dallas Buyers Club last week. Although I'm not generally a fan of Matthew McConaughey, I thought he was great (so was Jared Leto). Tonight, if I can get through the rest of American Hustle, I'll probably watch Her or The Wolf of Wall Street.
Enough rambling. . .
:{oMaybe Red Horn is some type of spirit of an ECF friend gone sending vague messages?
#3 I haven't watched any of the movies nominated for best movie yet. I'll get around to it sometime this year, I'm rarely in a hurry about such things. I haven't been to a theater in years for that matter. Having an 8 foot screen and better sound than most theaters has spoiled me.
Are all those movies out on DVD?
I can't tolerate intolerance. Yes, I know exactly how silly that sounds.03/01 Entry #2 . . .
Having a discussion in another thread and thought I would share just a part of it here . . .

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (first location in Austin, TX) kicks folks out for using their phones. They banned Madonna for life, she has apologized and begged and they still won't let her in. It's the only theater I can deal with anymore. I turned down a job there when the first location opened, I thought it would never work. Now they are all over the country.#5
It's actually very rare for me to see the movies this "early." I usually wait, too. I teach film classes pretty regularly, so it's a bit funny that I can't tell you the last time I was in a theater. My reasons are different than yours, though--I have zero patience for people using their phones in the theater--either to carry on phone conversations, or to text. Such self-centered behavior drives me insane!
