#5 I take that back, I haven't tried SS rope. Being SS, I didn't see how it would taste any better than mesh which wicked fine for me.

I'm using cotton in BFT's, I have some hemp fiber for vertical coils but it's been more trouble than it's worth IMO. I still use silica or Ekowool in a dripper half the time, it wicks fine in a small space and dry hits aren't nearly as nasty compared to organic fibers. It's hard to beat the price of organic cotton balls though, one bag should last years. Also, cotton ball is the easiest to pull through a coil. I'm waiting for some hemp sliver to arrive, it may take the place of cotton in the BFT's... but it's nowhere as cheap.

For first coil I made on the SQuape I used cotton and a microcoil. It worked perfectly. That's the only time the first coil made on a new device worked well for me. Cotton for the win!

I have used SS mesh and it is better than silica IMO but it is just not right, cotton is still better.

I'm all hemp, all the time, now...
Schnarph, the Taifun GT is almost identical to the fogger in practice. It's a little easier to build, due to the collapsable deck, but it wicks just the same...
No tank-crackers allowed, though...
I still have an RSST and an AGA-T2 with a Faughatti cap, but never use them...

Listening to you folks makes me feel like a newbie. The SQuape looks the most interesting to me. I'll have to do more looking at videos, other things are more important now anyways. This hobby if ours is moving so fast. The first year or so I was vaping nothing changed a lot, now every day it seems there's new things out.

So I real quick built the SS tank to figure it out, and the flavor is better than silica but muted vs the cotton. The only benefit is that SS mesh lasts forever, just light it on fire and it is clean and good to go again.
